Christmas had always been Kara's favorite time of the year until she became Supergirl. Christmas was usually time for friends and family, but with her new superhero duties, she saw this in a different light. There were countless accidents and robberies a day. Even the super-powered blonde couldn't keep up with the stress from all.

When she came in last night after stopping a family from driving off National City's bridge, she fell straight into bed. Sleep was a welcomed friend of hers as of late.

This morning, she had an unusually hard time waking up and getting out of bed. It wasn't until she heard the soft cries of a baby that she left her bed. Confused. There were no newborn babies on her floor. The sound was far too loud for it to be anywhere but her apartment. Using her x-ray vision, she gave her apartment a once over. Upon seeing nothing, she gave up. Laying on her couch, she almost fell back to sleep before she got the idea to check outside her apartment door.

That was the best idea she had. Laying in a children's carrier was the tiniest baby Kara had ever laid eyes on. She immediately bent down to pick up the wailing infant. It was like magic. The baby's tears stopped as soon as she was in the rocking arms of the superhero.

Kicking the door closed, Kara walked the baby over to her couch to sit with the now quiet child. She looked down at the child, truly observing her. The first thing she noticed was their eyes. It was green. The greenest eyes she had ever seen exempting Lena's. Using her finger, she began playing with the baby. Its skin was warm. That must have meant it hadn't been there for too long.

While tickling the baby's cheeks, it reached out a hand and held onto Kara's extended pointer finger. The sight was adorable.

It didn't take long for the baby to move the finger to its mouth. At first, Kara didn't mind until the baby gummed on her finger. What was alarming was the fact that Kara felt pain from the small action.

"Ok adorable, you must be hungry," Kara cooed as she pulled her finger away. The baby babbled in agreement. Kara smiled down at the green-eyed baby in her arms.

Kara was shocked that the baby immediately started fussing as soon as she moved to place her in the carrier. "Ok, I guess you're making breakfast with me."

Kara wasn't the best in the kitchen, and with a baby in her arms, whatever skills she had were nullified. She didn't even know what she could feed the baby. She had no clue how old it was. She knew next to nothing about babies.

Sent into a small panic, she stood in her kitchen, googling how to find out the age of a baby. Her screen switched to a call. Lena. Lena might be able to help.

Lena: Are you okay? Are we still having breakfast today?

Kara: There's been a minor change of plans. How fast can you get to my apartment?

Lena: What's wrong? Are you hurt?

Kara could hear the panic in her friend's voice and quickly corrected her. "I'm good, Lee. But I need you to come to my apartment."

Lena: I'll be there in five.

True to her words, Lena was outside Kara's door in no more than 5 minutes.
"Wow, did you fly over here?" She joked.

Lena didn't say anything too shocked about the baby her friend was holding. "Kara, where did you get a baby?"

Kara told her the story of her finding the child outside her apartment. "Don't you think we should take her to the police station? Her parents abandoned her." Kara responded, "I don't know. I think she's an alien. She bit me."

"Don't be silly Kara she doesn't even have teeth."

"I'm not being silly, my finger was in her mouth, and I felt pain. Pain, Lena. I don't feel pain."

"Ok, somethings definitely up with that. Maybe we should carry her to the DEO. But we have to do something, we can't just keep her here." Lena was right. She agreed to Lena's proposition.

"Can you hold her while I go change?" Kara asked the brunette.

Lena hesitantly nodded, accepting the infant into her arms. It was clear that her interaction with babies was limited by how stiff she sat holding the infant.

"Wow, she likes you. When I was putting her down, she started fussing, but she went over to you quietly," Kara explained.

The superhero left her friend and the baby to quickly get ready for the day. After her shower and super speeding through her morning routine, she rejoined the duo, dressed and ready for the day.

"Let's go."

"Wait, I'll call my driver," Lena said.

"It would be much faster if I flew us over," the superhero said.

"The baby isn't dressed to go flying. I think it would be better if we used the car," Lena reasoned. Kara agreed.

"She's a rather quiet baby," Lena said as the two adults waited on her driver.

"You should've heard her this morning, she's got a good pair of lungs on her," Kara joked.

The two adults sat in silence, watching the quiet child in Lena's arms. The green-eyed baby was staring back just as intently.

Their little bubble was popped when Lena's phone went off, disrupting the silence and scaring the baby.

Handing the startled baby to Kara, Lena answered her call. She didn't spend a minute before hanging up. "The driver's here." Leaning down to the baby she whispered, "Sorry about that."

Kara, Lena, and the once again quiet baby made their way to Lena's driver.

The drive to DEO headquarters was rather uneventful. The baby was on her best behaviour, and the two adults were silently watching her.
