The night was a blur of Leigh waking her mothers up with her wails. Kara couldn't have been happier when the sun peeked over the horizon and into Lena's countless glass windows. Lena, on the other hand, dreaded the light. Her morning grumpiness was on an all-new level due to her interrupted sleep.

"Good morning Lee, good morning Leigh." The blonde was much too chirpy after hours of interrupted sleep for Lena's liking. All Kara got in return was a pillow-muffled groan from Lena and a toothless smile from Leigh. Kara removed Leigh and herself from the bed while Lena took a few extra minutes for herself.

Kara moved through her morning routine with Leigh attached to her hip. She found the additional weight to be oddly welcomed. It didn't take her long to get both herself and her daughter dressed and ready for the day.

They were both dressed in pastel blue, Kara, a baby blue shirt tucked into white pants and Leigh, a pale blue frilly dress. "Are you hungry? I know I am," Kara cooed as she tickled Leigh on their way to the kitchen. Leigh squirmed and giggled from Kara's tickling. Each time she smiled, she revealed two deep dimples on her cheeks. "Your mummy has the same dimples on her cheeks," Kara said while gently poking her daughter's dimpled cheek.

"Mmma mmama," Leigh babbled.

"Mama? Is that what you're trying to say? Mama."

While Kara strapped her into the high seat, Leigh continued her babbling. Kara started preparing breakfast and Lena's coffee. Leigh sneezed at the first smell of the strong coffee. Kara watched her for a minute for any further reactions before continuing to prepare their breakfast.

Kara heard Lena before she saw her. The small yawn that left her mouth as she stretched, the padding of her bare feet as she made her way to meet them in the kitchen.

"Good morning," Lena's voice was rough from lack of use. "Morning," Kara returned while handing her a cup of coffee. "Breakfast is almost ready. Why don't you finish your coffee and go get ready," Kara suggested. "Thanks, you didn't need to do all of this," Lena gestured to the food Kara was preparing. "It's no big deal."

While finishing her coffee, Lena fed Leigh half of a mashed up banana from her fruit bowl. Even from a spoon, the mushed up banana managed to smear all over Leigh's face and even unto her dress.

Lifting Leigh from the high seat, Lena took her into the bedroom to change. "How did you get so messy," she said while wiping the fruit from her daughter's face. Leigh fussed a bit at the rubbing but calmed when Lena started a game of peek-a-boo.

After cleaning her daughter's face, Lena returned her to Kara. "I'm going to shower and change. Then, I'll call my driver to take us to the DEO."

Due to her nerves, Lena managed to finish her two-hour-long morning routine in a little over an hour. After her shower, she slipped into a navy blue dress and left her hair in its natural curls. Her face was bare of makeup, giving Kara the perfect view of the moles she's come to enjoy seeing.

"That smells amazing," Lena said, breaking Kara out of her trance. "I hope it tastes as good as it smells," she handed Lena a breakfast sandwich.

"Thank you."

The rest of the small family's morning was a quiet affair. Somewhere during Lena's breakfast, Leigh managed to fall asleep on her lap, trapping the brunette on her spot on the couch.

"Lena, your driver's downstairs," Kara whispered, attempting not to wake up their sleeping daughter. "Can you get Leigh's bag and carrier?" Lena asked.

The blonde quickly moved into action, grabbing Leigh's bag and carrier from the bedroom.

"Do you want to put her in it?" Kara asked.
"Yea, she's starting to hurt my thighs." The blonde attempted to move her daughter from Lena's lap. Her attempts were futile, and Leigh's fingers had gripped onto the skirt of Lena's dress and didn't seem to want to let go.

"I don't want to hurt her," Kara said after giving up on removing Leigh from Lena. "It's okay, I'll keep her," Lena said while maneuvering Leigh to a better position in her arms. "She's up," Kara said, looking into the blinking green eyes of their daughter.
"Do you wanna go with Mama?" Lena's voice was sing-songy as she spoke to her daughter. "Mama, Mama." Leigh's babbles shocked Lena. According to the file they received yesterday, Leigh was 2 weeks away from five months, which was much too soon for her to start talking.

"What's wrong?" Kara asked when she saw the look of astonishment on Lena's face. "She isn't even 5 months as yet, and she's already said 'mama'."

"On Krypton babies speak as early as five months, but Jeju told me I started speaking around four months," Kara explained to the panicked brunette in front of her. That seemed to ease Lena's worry.

"Lena, do you need any help getting up?" Kara asked with an outstretched arm. With Kara's help, it wasn't long before Lena was standing with a hyper Leigh in her arms. "She's so smiley today," Kara said, bending down to kiss Leigh's cheek. "She is." Lena agreed.

What Kara and Lena weren't expecting was Leigh's tears on their way to the car. No matter what the women did, Leigh's tears persisted. Her mood did a complete 360. She went from smiling and babbling to crying in seconds. Her tears even continued as they entered the quiet car. "Sorry Joseph, we can't seem to get her to stop crying." Lena apologised for the loud noise. "It's okay, I have three of my own, I understand what you're going through. Maybe she's teething, my youngest cried for weeks." Kara didn't know if she could stand weeks of Leigh's tears, and wouldn't it be worse when they get Lori. Luckily, Lena was quick to jump in, "She's only four months, that's much too soon to start teething."

At some point, Leigh grew tired of crying and fell asleep, her head nuzzled under Lena's neck and face covered by Lena's hair. "She's sleeping," Lena announced when she noticed Leigh's breaths had even out. "Do you want to put her in the car seat?" Kara asked. "And risk waking her up again? I can hold her." Lena couldn't handle another crying streak from Leigh.
"Do either of you need any help getting out?" Joseph asked as he stopped in front of the DEO headquarters. Lena quickly accepted the offer while Kara politely refused and made her way out of the car. "Thank you," Lena said as she accepted the help offered to her. Even with the movement out of the car and into the building and the noise of the agents, Leigh stayed asleep, snuggled deep into her mama's neck.

"Let's get her to Alex's office so you can put her down."

The women were undisturbed as they made their way down to Alex's lab. "Kara, Lena. I was just about to call you." Alex's words were rushed.

"Is J'onn back?" Kara asked. Alex shocked her head, "No, but I was studying her blood, and I noticed something." She pulled up a blood chart system on the monitor. As soon as Lena's eyes focused on the chart, she saw the problem. It took Kara a little while longer to realise what was wrong, but when she did, she saw her whole collapsing again. "Can't you just give her some blood? If her body isn't producing enough, the DEO has blood banks. It shouldn't be too hard to find a match." Even as she said it, she doubted her words. "Kara, she won't have a match. It's all my fault, if-" Lena's self-deprecating words were cut off. "Lena, you did nothing. You had no part to play in this. We're going to figure this out. I'll call Eliza and Brainy and Diana. We'll figure this out."

"Kara, I can't lose her." The brunette's words were wet with her unshed tears. Everyone she'd ever loved had been ripped from her world, and she couldn't stand the thought of losing either of her daughters.

"We aren't going to lose her. Leigh is strong, I'm sure between all of us, we'll figure out something." The brunette was in Kara's arms, and Leigh was snug in between her mothers.
