The Hidden Omega (NSB)

Finding out

Kane had finished his nest just before the heat hit. As he was putting the nest together, he realized that he hadn't ever paid this much attention to his pack members' scents before. He also realized that he really liked Regie's scent, and he wanted more of it.

He started to regret telling Darren he didn't need help, but as the heat was getting closer, he wasn't sure if these thoughts were his or if they were coming from his heat. He thought about asking Darren to get Regie, but he felt the heat symptoms worsen, and he knew it had begun. He knew even if he asked, Darren wouldn't do it.

As Kane's heat hit fully, the other members began to wake up. Oliver came downstairs to get breakfast, and he froze. The scent wasn't strong, but it was out of place in their house. It was the sweet smell of an omega in heat. He hurried toward the pack room and saw Darren standing guard outside of it.

"Darren, who is-" He didn't finish the sentence as everything clicked. The weird behavior and snappiness, the missing clothes, and Kane had been eating them out of house and home lately, too. "Did you know about this?" Oliver asked instead.

"I found out a while ago, but he didn't know that I knew. He said he doesn't want any help, so you can go away. I've got it under control." Darren said.

Oliver could tell that Darren was dealing with new feelings, and he didn't want to cause any problems. He puts his hands up. "Don't worry, helping Kane wasn't even on my mind. I trust you got everything under control. I'll let the others know what's going on, ok, mama bear?" He chuckles, not able to avoid teasing him a little at the end.

After reassuring Darren, he gathers the others for an emergency house meeting upstairs in his room. "Ok, I know everyone is a little confused right now, so I will get to the point. The reason that Kane has been acting so weird lately is that he was in pre-heat, and he is now in heat." He said.

As everyone began talking, he put his hand up. "I was not done. I know we all have a lot of questions, but I don't think we can really get answers right now. The important thing is that we know Kane is ok and safe in the house with us. Kane being an omega will take some getting used to, but he is still Kane. Darren is taking care of him right now, and it's best if only the betas go near the pack room for now. There will be a lot of new feelings and instincts to deal with, and when I talked to Darren earlier, he was already pretty protective. I don't want any fights, ok?" He ended his little speech and waited for their responses.

Everyone nodded and made some form of verbal agreement. Then Sebastian spoke. "Why didn't he tell us? Does he not trust us? Have we ever made it seem like we don't like omegas?" He asked.

"I mean, he would be the only Omega. It's probably more than just about trusting us," Regie said. Ryan nodded in agreement.

"Manager Ty never said anything either," Sebastian said, but none of the boys could fault him for protecting his little brother. "We should tell him what's going on, right?" Sebastian asked.

"He probably already knows," Oliver said, looking at the time. They were all late for their 9 am meeting, so manager Ty had probably already gone to the living room and smelt the heat scent.

They all went downstairs as they concluded their personal meeting, and they saw manager Ty waiting for them. "We just talked about it, and even though we have questions, we can wait until Kane is feeling better," Oliver stated quickly, addressing the elephant in the room.

Manager Ty relaxed and nodded. "Great, then we can get on to talking business."
