When Kane had presented as an omega, he was upset. It wasn't that he thought there was something wrong with being an omega, but he thought he would be an alpha or at least a beta like his brother. The night he presented had been horrible. He had woken up to incredible cramps and a need that he couldn't satisfy.

His brother had tried to help as much as he could. He always made sure to keep Kane hydrated and Well-fed. He got him medicine for his cramps and kept their family away from the room. As much as he helped, he could do nothing to help the need Kane felt.

After Kane's first heat, he decided he didn't mind being an omega, but he didn't want to broadcast it to the world. He was lucky that he didn't have too much of an omegan scent. Most omega's had fruity or floral scents, but Kane's was more of a melted marshmallow scent. It was still on the sweet side, but it wasn't too obvious.

A couple years later, he had ended up joining the Northstarboys. When he learned that none of the other members were omegas, he was hesitant to tell them he was one, and ultimately he decided not to. He went on scent blockers and heat suppressants to help him hide those aspects of himself. The others assumed he was a beta, and he never corrected them. After moving in with the boys, he didn't have any problems regarding his omega status. Him and his brother decided that during trips to visit his family, he would come off his suppressants and allow his cycle to run its course as suggested by the doctor. He couldn't do it as often as he should, but it was better than nothing.

The dynamic in the house was good. They were a pack, but their dynamic wasn't reliant on secondary genders. Oliver was their head alpha, but they all viewed each other as equals. They had a pack room for when a member was going through a rut, but they handled those things themselves. Ty would typically be responsible for keeping whoever was in there fed and hydrated, but that was as much help as they gave each other.

Kane was really happy with the way their dynamic was, and he never felt like he was less than because they didn't have a hierarchy in their pack. This led to Ty trying to convince him to tell the others his actual status.

"You know that they wouldn't think less of you because you're an omega. The boys aren't like that, and it wouldn't change things." Ty said.

Kane sighed. He knew his brother was right, but he still didn't feel comfortable telling them. "Things are good how they are now, and telling them I'm an omega would change the dynamic. It's just easier having no omegas," Kane explained.

"We don't have no omegas, though. You still are an omega, Kane, whether you tell them or not. Don't you trust the boys? They don't keep secrets from you. Why are you keeping such a huge one from them?" Ty asked.

"That's not fair. You know why. It's been this long. Telling them now would mess things up. I'm done talking about this." Kane said, and then he went to his room.
