The Hidden Omega (NSB)

Rest day

Now that Kane has spent time with the alphas, everyone has adjusted to the change in dynamic, and things are going smoothly in the house. Ryan is enjoying his new room, and the newly mated couple is enjoying rooming together, of course.

Until one night, Kane wakes up feeling very sick to his stomach, and he bolts up and rushes to the bathroom. Regie is woken up by the movement and is getting ready to fall back asleep when he hears Kane getting sick.

He gets up and heads into the bathroom. Kane is kneeling in front of the toilet and emptying his stomach into it. Regie comes over and rubs Kane's back a bit, hoping to give him some comfort. "Just let it all out, and it'll feel better afterward," Regie says. He stays with Kane the entire time, even when Kane tries to tell him to go back to bed. Finally, after about 30 minutes, Kane stands up.

"I think I'm good now," He says, then goes to the sink and grabs some mouthwash to wash out his mouth.

"Do you think you have a bug, or was it just something you ate?" Regie asked.

"I feel fine now, so it was probably something I ate. I'm going to go back to bed and see how I feel in the morning. If I get sick again, I'll go to the doctor tomorrow. If it's a bug, I don't want to spread it to everyone." Kane explains.

Regie nods. "Ok, you go get comfortable. I'm going to get you some water, and I'll grab a pack of crackers too. If you do get sick again, it'll help to have a little something on your stomach," he says.

Regie does as he said he would and comes back to find that Kane has made a nest on their bed out of blankets, pillows, and even some of Regie's clothes.

Kane doesn't have very strong urges to nest aside from when he is near his heat, so if he is making a nest now, he must really be needing the extra comfort.

Regie sets the crackers on the nightstand and carefully climbs into the nest. "You really don't feel good, huh?" He says as he hands the water bottle to Kane.

Kane shrugs a bit. "I don't feel nauseous, but I don't exactly feel good," Kane answers, and he takes a few sips of water before he sets the bottle on the nightstand.

Kane starts getting comfortable, and he glances at Regie. "I don't feel like cuddling, but can we hold hands?" He asks while holding out a hand to Regie.

Regie smiles and takes his hand. "You're making it hard not to cuddle you. You are being very cute right now," He says, chuckling a bit. Kane rolls his eyes but smiles.

The next morning when they wake up, Kane is feeling perfectly fine. "It must have been something I ate because I'm fine now," Kane tells Regie.

"Well, I'm glad your better," Reggie tells him. He wraps his arms around Kane and pulls him close. Kane wants to stay in bed and cuddle, but he knows they should get up or else they will be late for their morning meeting.

"We have to get up," Kane says, making no move to get up. Instead, he snuggles closer to Regie, and he smiles happily when he feels Regie bury his nose into his neck.

"You smell so good," Regie mumbles. Kane runs his fingers through Regie's hair.

"You always think I smell nice," Kane says. Regie hums in agreement.

"But you smell extra nice," Regie tells him. Kane rolls his eyes.

Eventually, the pair get up and head to the living room, and they are the last to arrive. Regie sits down and pulls Kane into his lap. The small bout of sickness has Regie's protective instincts flaring up, and he wants Kane as close as possible.

After doing all their morning stuff, the boys have some free time. They wanted to do something together, so they were discussing what to do, and they narrowed down the choices to either going to the mall or playing video games.

"I'm actually pretty tired, I didn't have a great sleep last night, so I'd rather just stay home and watch you guys play video games," Kane explained. After Kane gave his input, everyone agreed that playing video games sounded good.

Kane was happy to curl up next to Regie and watch, and he ended up dozing off after a while. When it came time to do some work, Regie decided to tell the others about Kane getting sick. Even though he was feeling better, Regie wanted him to get as much rest as possible, and being sick was a good reason for him to rest.

The others had no problem letting the two skip work for the day so that Kane could rest. Kane didn't wake up until around dinner time, and Darren cooked something light for him that would be easy on his stomach, just in case.

Kane yawned and sat up. "Great timing, we were just about to wake you up to eat," Regie said, smiling at him. "You slept for a good few hours. Hopefully, you can sleep tonight," he added. Kane yawned. "I think I'll be fine. I've been pretty tired lately," Kane said. Darren came in with a plate of food and handed it to Regie to give to Kane.

"Well, maybe if you guys actually slept at night, you wouldn't be so tired," Darren teased. He chuckled when he saw Kane's face flush at the comment.

Oliver came in when he heard the conversation. "Kane, you're awake. Regie said you were sick last night. Are you sure you are feeling better? You don't want to go to the doctor just in case?" He asked.

"I'm sure. I feel fine today, just tired, but that's probably because I was up for a while last night. If I needed a doctor, I would let you guys know, promise," He reassured the worried pack alpha.

Oliver nods. "If you are sure, then ok, but if you feel bad again at all, then I'll make a doctor's appointment." He decided. Kane nodded because he knew that there would be no changing Oli's mind on the matter.

After eating, Kane is still pretty tired but doesn't want to go back to sleep. He decides to relax and watch TV and is joined by Regie and Oliver. About halfway through the movie, Justin comes in to see what they are watching, gets wrapped up in the movie, and stays to finish it.

After a couple of movies, Kane decides it's time to go to bed. He bids everyone goodnight and heads to the room, followed by Regie. After getting ready for bed, they cuddle up together in the nest Kane made the night before.

"A nice long rest, and I'll be good as new tomorrow," Kane says with a yawn. Regie kisses his head. "I hope so," he says.
