The Hidden Omega (NSB)

Pre-Heat

It had been 3 months since Kane had his last heat, and his pre-heat was starting again. Of course, everyone could tell right away because of the change in Kane's scent. The last time Kane was in pre-heat, he spent his time avoiding everyone in fear of them finding out his omegan status.

That wasn't the case this time. Everyone was able to observe the small changes in Kane's behavior as his pre-heat started.

Some common behaviors were hard to notice with Kane because he already did them. Such as an omega wearing their alpha's clothes or being more clingy. Kane already wore Regie's clothes sometimes, and the two were almost always cuddling when they weren't busy, but the members did notice the frequency of these things increase some.

Other behaviors were easy to pick up on, though. Things like him stealing their clothes. Everyone knew Kane was going to nest, and they were ok giving up some of their clothes for a while, but Darren had to put his foot down when Toasty went missing, only to be found tucked securely into one side of Kane's nest.

"Nuh-uh, no way, Kane. You can not have Toasty. Give Toasty back." He demanded, holding out his hand. Kane frowned. "But it smells the most like you," He explained. Darren almost felt bad, but he couldn't make compromises when it came to Toasty.

He tried to think of an alternative. "What if I scent something else and give it to you?" He suggested. Kane thought about it and nodded. "Ok, that will work." He said.

Darren left and went to his room. He decided to grab his pillow since it already had his scent on it. After scenting it, he brought it back to Kane in the pack room.

"Ok, here you go. Now give Toasty back." He held out the pillow. Kane carefully removed Toasty and exchanged for the pillow. Darren hugged Toasty tightly.

After Toasty's kidnapping, the others wondered if Kane would appreciate it if they scented some things for them. Kane was delighted when items began showing up covered in the scents of his pack members. His nest was finished soon, and he laid down to take a nap.

Kane had begun eating more as well. His body was preparing him for the large amount of calories he would be burning off once the heat started. He was constantly hanging around the kitchen getting a snack, and he had asked Darren to make him food countless times as well.

Darren was happy to help and would make him something to eat when he asked, but eventually, it got a bit tiring. He started making larger portions so Kane could warm up leftovers when he got hungry again.

Ty knew that the last day or two before Kane started his heat, he would spend nearly all his time sleeping or at least laying down, no doubt keeping Regie with him. Because of this, Ty decided that they should do extra filming the first few days to cover the days lost during the last bit of his pre-heat and his heat.

Nobody had a problem with this, and Kane had agreed as well, but after the first two days, his mood had gotten a lot worse, and filming was getting harder.

During pre-heat, Kane got very irritable, and while typically, when he snapped at them, it wasn't serious, it was a different story when he was approaching his heat. The first day or two weren't bad, but it's only been getting worse.

Kane had been a bit snippy all day, so Regie tried to comfort him when they were on break. Unfortunately, Regie made a bad choice in his approach. He came up behind his boyfriend and smacked his butt to get his attention, "Hey babe-" He wasn't able to finish his sentence before Kane cut him off.

Kane turned around quickly and glared at Regie. "Why are you like this? Just leave me alone!" He shouted before storming off to Regie's bedroom. The air was tense, and everyone avoided looking in Regie's direction.

Regie sighed and followed Kane. "Hey, babe, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that," He says. He keeps his voice calm, not wanting to upset the omega further. It didn't work.

Kane knew he was being irrational, and that fact only made him more upset. "Your only saying that to calm me down! You think I'm being stupid!" He shouts. He brings his hands up to his hair, grabbing at it as an attempt to ground himself.

Regie's demeanor becomes more serious. "Kane. You need to calm down before you get yourself too worked up. We have a ten-minute break. Are you going to spend it here alone or do you want me to stay and we can do whatever you want? Those are your choices." He says.

Kane takes a deep breath and quietly says, "Want you to stay." He holds his arms out toward Regie and is quickly wrapped up in a hug. Regie smiles when he feels Kane nuzzle into his neck. "There we go, much better," Regie says, tone softer.

They spend the whole ten minutes hugging while Kane takes in as much of Regie's scent as he can get. Once the time is up, Kane has completely calmed down and is now feeling guilty for how he acted.

"I'm sorry I snapped at you," He says. Regie rubs his back and shakes his head. "You don't need to apologize. You are extra hormonal right now, so it affects your emotions. We all understand." Regie says.

"That isn't an excuse to yell at everyone over small things," Kane whines. "It's ok. If you want, you can apologize to the others now, but as I said, we all understand." Regie says.

When they went back out, Kane apologized to the others. They all accepted his apology, and then it was back to filming. They were almost done, so everyone wanted to try and hurry it up.

Kane wouldn't let go of Regie, but since he was in a better mood finally, they weren't about to pry him away. They figured the fans wouldn't mind seeing the two cuddle in the background more than they participated.

People were always commenting about wanting more sweet moments with the two anyway.

After they finished filming, Kane was finally done until after his heat. He grabbed Regie's hand and took him to the pack room. Kane was tired and wanted to rest.

Regie laid down, and Kane quickly laid on top of him. He buried his nose into his neck and fell into a peaceful sleep.

Kane hardly ever left the pack room during the next two days. He spent most of the time sleeping, just as Ty knew he would.

Even though Kane was officially on break, Regie was not. Which meant he needed to leave the room for a little while both days. He would normally leave when Kane was sleeping, and Ryan would take his place.

Regie wasn't comfortable having an alpha in there with his unmated omega. Even though he knew the two would never do anything, he couldn't help his instincts. Ryan felt bad for not spending more time with Kane before, so he decided to help out more this time around and volunteered to stay with Kane when Regie needed to leave.

He didn't mind being in there. He found the nest to be very comforting, and even though he wasn't one for a lot of physical affection, he didn't mind cuddling with Kane. He decided to blame it on his instincts. The need to care for the omega during this time made him more open to cuddling than he usually would be.

When Kane woke up after the first time Regie and Ryan switched out, he was worried Kne would be upset. When he just nuzzled into his neck and closed his eyes again, Ryan relaxed. He was planning on playing games on his phone, but he found himself drifting off to sleep in no time.
