The Hidden Omega (NSB)

Baby Time!

(AN: This isn't the last chapter, I do want to add some more cute moments with the guys and the new baby, but that chapter will be less of a long put together chapter and more of a small collection of moments put together! So this thing is really coming to an end now! Thank you so much to everyone for being so patient and waiting for me to update! I really appreciate all the support and the comments! )

For the next week, everyone was on high alert around Kane. The due date was approaching, so they were waiting for him to pop out the baby at any time. Kane still got annoyed easily, but he was trying to be more understanding. The key word being trying.

Then the due date came and went. Now that the due date had passed, Kane couldn't wait to bring their baby into the world. Every day that passed made him grow increasingly impatient. He wanted his baby out now, to hold his baby and get the baby home.

Kane and Regie spent a lot of time deciding on baby names. They started with looking at boy names and girl names but eventually settled on a few gender-neutral names that would work no matter what their baby was born as. Nile, Jordan, Drew, and Dakota were all on their little list, but Kane didn't want to make a final decision before meeting their baby.

"Why won't this baby come out already?" Kane complained. He was lying in the nursery with Darren while Regie rearranged the furniture. Again. He didn't mind, though, since he knew if he didn't do it, Kane would try to move everything on his own. Again.

"We can look it up online!" Darren suggested. Kane rolled his eyes.

"We've already looked it up online, and we've already tried everything they said! I've been eating so much spicy food, Regie and I tried going on a few walks, and we've been having plenty of sex! So why is this baby still in me?" Kane whined.

Darren made a face at the last part of Kane's small rant but didn't say anything about it and just nodded. "Well, the baby will come out eventually. It has to!" He tried to comfort the omega.

Kane just whined again and snugged into Darren's side. Darren had been spending an increasing amount of time with Kane during the day. He had already been pretty involved with the pregnancy, so it wasn't a surprise, but Oliver did wish they could have more alone time.

Oliver peeks into the room. "Oh, there you are, Darren," he said.

Darren smiled, "Did you need me for something?" he asked.

Oliver shook his head, "Just missed you," he replied.

"Gross," Regie chimed in.

"I don't wanna hear anything out of you. We all had to sit through you and Kane when you first got together. Now you get to deal with us," Oliver chuckled.

Regie sighed dramatically, "Fine. I guess you have a point."

Oliver comes into the room. "Want help moving things around?" he asked.

Regie shakes his head. "I've got it. You aren't going to help much anyway. Darren will distract you every couple of minutes, so it's better if you just join them in the nest now," he says.

Oliver smiles sheepishly and doesn't deny Regie's words as he climbs into the nest next to Darren.

The four of them spend most of the day in the nursery. The others come in and out throughout the day, but for the most part, it's just the four of them.

That night Kane wakes up, and the first thing he notices is that his underwear is wet. He nudges Regie to wake him up, and Regie is awake with just one slight nudge. "Is the baby coming?" he asks instantly.

"Maybe? I don't know, but my underwear is wet," Kane explains.

Regie gets out of bed. "Here, get up for a second," he says. He helps Kane out of bed. Kane makes a face as he feels more liquid trickle down. Regie sniffs a bit, only making Kane more flustered and embarrassed.

"Well, it doesn't smell like pee, so I think it might be baby time!" Regie says excitedly. He grabs his phone to call their doctor and let her know what is happening.

"Ask the doctor if I can get a shower," Kane requests as he goes to look through their hospital bag one more time.

When the doctor picks up, Regie explains the situation before asking if Kane has time to shower.

"Has he already started having contractions?" She asked.

Regie looked over at Kane and saw him standing in front of the bag, no longer going through it but instead, he had his eyes closed and was focused on breathing.

"Babe, are you having contractions?" he asked.

As the contraction passed, Kane resumed going through the bag and answered Regie. "Yeah, but they aren't bad yet, but I was sleeping when my water broke, so I don't know if they started earlier or just now," he explained.

Regie relayed the information to the doctor and was told Kane would have enough time to shower before coming to the hospital. After being given the ok and a little more on what to expect next, he hung up the phone.

Regie helped Kane into the shower. "I can shower fine on my own. Can you go wake the others up? Let them know that we are going to the hospital, but they don't have to come yet. Only you can come into the delivery room." Kane requested.

"Of course, but are you sure you don't want one of the Betas in the room? They would be allowed, and it might keep you calmer." Regie double-checked. Kane nodded, and Regie left to let the others know what was happening.

By the time Kane finished his shower Regie was back and helped him get dressed. They grabbed their hospital bag and went downstairs, and Kane saw everyone getting ready to leave.

"What's going on?" he asked.

"We're going to the hospital. We can sit in the waiting room, but I can't have a pack member in labor and not be nearby," Oliver explained.

"And if you change your mind about wanting one of us in the room, we will be there," Darren 

added and motioned to the other betas and himself.

Kane smiled and gave them both a hug. Soon they were all on their way to the hospital. Regie and Kane arrived first and went inside to check-in.

The process was long, and Kane had changed his mind about only having Regie in the room. He had asked for Ty.

Ty came out into the waiting room after the baby was born to let the others know. As soon as he walked out, everyone was asking him about the baby. He raised his hands to quiet them before speaking.

"The baby is a healthy baby girl," he announced with a smile.

Kane and Regie decided on the name Jordan for their daughter. They were allowed to go home after less than 24 hours. They were told that they should limit visitors for the first couple of months since new babies can get sick easily and pack members would already be around often.

After getting home, Kane called to talk to his mom. He had already called her but promised to call again when he and the baby got settled at home. The others didn't want to overwhelm Kane, so there were never more than two of them coming into the nursery at a time.

Of course, this caused quite a few arguments because everyone wanted to see the baby and nobody wanted their turn to end. Kane was just happy to be in his nest with his baby and mate, surrounded by the smell of his mate and their pack. When he first presented, he never saw this future for himself, but he couldn't be happier now.
