The Hidden Omega (NSB)

(AN: I'm back from vacation and ready to write!)

Kane's heat only lasted about four days this time. The other members were glad. Kane was usually loud, but it was worse when he was in heat. Oliver had talked about getting some extra soundproofing for the pack room, and everyone agreed with the idea.

After his heat was over, Kane and Reggie were back to work. Kane was glad, though. He really was in his dream job. If he thought about it, he might even go as far as to say his dream life.

He had managed to find a pack that he fit into perfectly and that his brother was a part of, so even though he was technically not a part of his birth pack anymore, he didn't feel too disconnected from them. As much as he loved his family and his birth pack, he knew that being here with this pack was right for him, the pack bond was strong, and he felt safe, and most importantly, they felt like home.

He had also found an excellent boyfriend, who was not only his partner but also one of his best friends. Regie was everything an alpha should be and more. Regie was better than any mate he could have imagined himself having.

Kane could go on for hours listing all the things that made Regie the perfect boyfriend, but one thing that stood out amongst the rest was how Regie didn't care that Kane wasn't a typical omega. He never made Kane feel like less of an omega for not often cooking or being interested in things deemed not for omegas by society.

And to top it all off, he could finally call his perfect boyfriend his mate.

Kane looked in the mirror as he was getting dressed. He was deciding what he should wear for filming. He wanted something that would show the mark. He wanted the whole world to know that Regie was his and that he was Regie's, but he also didn't know if it was too much.

In the end, he just wore a regular t-shirt. It didn't cover the mark, but it wasn't blatantly showing it off like some other shirts he had considered did. Once he was dressed for the day, he made his way to their 9 am meeting.

He could hear them already discussing something as he walked in. It wasn't quite 9 yet, so it must be a non-meeting topic that got brought up while waiting for everyone.

"Kane basically moved into Regie's room already, and now that they are mates, there is no way he is ever sleeping in a separate room, so it's only fair that I get Kane's room. I shouldn't have to share with Darren when there is a room that is basically vacant." Ryan explains his view to Oli.

Kane couldn't argue with anything Ryan had said, so he spoke up before Oliver had a chance. "You can have the room. I don't really need it. Like you said, I'm staying with Regie." He said. Ryan smiled and thanked Kane. As the conversation wrapped up, everyone else had made it to their meeting. Regie plopped down next to Kane and had his arm around Kane's shoulders, and Kane couldn't help but lean into his side.

The meeting went by without any problems and the rest of the day went similarly. That night Regie helped Kane move his stuff into his room, and afterward, Ryan moved into the empty room.

As the week progressed, Kane thought about the changes that had occurred since mating. Of course, their scents had changed, and now they both smelled like a mix of the two individual scents.

He also noticed that he and Regie were both much more secure in their relationship. He was less clingy and didn't feel the need to cover Regie in his scent all the time, and Regie wasn't as protective as he had been before.

When they hadn't mated, Regie didn't like the other alphas in the pack being around Kane, especially alone. He didn't think they would try anything, he knew they wouldn't, but his instincts were telling him to protect his unmated omega from alphas, even his fellow pack members.

Kane hadn't been able to have any proper bonding time or quality time with the alphas since they found out he was an omega. One of the first things Oliver had done the day after Kane's heat ended was demand to cuddle with him.

Cuddling wasn't exactly a go-to bonding method in their pack, but after seeing Kane cuddling with just about everyone, Oliver was feeling left out.

"I haven't cuddled with Sebastian either," Kane reminded him. Oliver still frowned and motioned him over.

"That's only one other person! Even Darren cuddled you before me! I'm pack alpha! I should be first!" Oliver exclaimed.

Kane chuckled. "Regie's instincts didn't like the idea of me getting too close to an alpha that wasn't him, and if it made Regie unhappy, then I couldn't do it. He didn't really care about anything else, so I wanted to respect the one thing his instincts seemed to deem important enough to bug him." Kane explained.

Oliver nodded in understanding. Even though he couldn't relate to Regie's feelings exactly, he still could understand him on a base level. "I know, but now that he claimed you and satisfied his instincts, you get to make it up to me. Plus, with all the changes in the pack, it's been hard not being able to bond with you properly. I've felt kind of off since everything happened. The dynamics of the pack changed, and even though everyone adjusted well, I still haven't totally settled into the new dynamic. Do you get what I mean?" Oli tried to explain but wasn't sure how well he was doing it.

Kane finally laid down with Oliver and nodded. "I get what you mean," he said. They put on a movie and cuddled together while watching it. Kane could feel the tension leaving Oliver as they relaxed together, and he wondered if he had been able to properly relax at all for the past few months.

Kane dozed off as the movie played. He felt so safe and warm in Oliver's presence he couldn't help but get sleepy. When Kane woke up from his nap, the movie was over, and something new was on, but that was ending too.

Kane also noticed that Oliver was gone, but he wasn't alone. Sebastian was now occupying the space that Oliver had previously been. Sebastian must have fallen asleep shortly after swapping out, and he was still sleeping.

Kane didn't want to disturb him, so he grabbed his phone and went through his notifications while waiting for the younger male to wake up. Kane was happy he could spend some time with the other two alphas in the pack.

Things weren't exactly the same as they had been before everyone knew his secret, but the changes were welcome, and Kane felt that things were perfect the way they were now.
