The Hidden Omega (NSB)

A much needed rest

After getting Kane and himself showered, clean, and dressed, Regie put Kane back into bed. "Before you sleep, you need to eat and drink some water," Regie told Kane.

Kane nodded and grabbed a water bottle from the bedside table to drink. Regie left the room, and when he didn't see Darren outside of it, he went to find him. Darren was in the kitchen warming up the food he had made earlier.

"Hey, the first wave is over, but he is ready to pass out. If you want to feed him, you have to do it quickly." Regie let Darren know how Kane was doing as he got himself some water.

"I'll go give this to him now then," Darren said, and he took the now warm plate of food to the room quickly. Slowly he opened the door. "Kane? Can I come in?" He asked.

Kane nodded and motioned him over. "You can come in. Just be careful." Kane told him, inviting him into not only the room but the nest as well.

Darren didn't particularly want to get on the bed because he knew what his two friends had just got done doing on it. He also knew there was no way he would offend the omega by refusing the invitation, so he sucked it up and got into the nest carefully.

"I got food," Darren said before holding the plate out. Earlier in the day, he may have been tempted to feed the omega himself, but as he got more used to his new instincts and feelings, he was able to stop thinking of Kane as 'omega' and think of Kane as Kane.

Kane smiled and accepted the food with a quiet thank you. Darren stayed with him while he ate. It wasn't until Kane was finished that Darren spoke. "Why didn't you want to tell us?" he asked.

Kane sighed a bit. "Can we talk about it another time?" He asked. Darren nodded and took the plate. "Sure, I'll send Regie back in. If you want." He said, heading to the door.

Kane shook his head. "He can come back if he wants to, but I'm gonna nap for a bit."

Darren nodded again and left the room. He went back to the kitchen, where Regie was getting himself something to eat. "Here, you can do the dishes. I have to go shower. I feel like I'm covered in your filth now," He complained as he came into the room.

Regie chuckled. "He let you in his nest, I assume," Regie smirked as he said it. "I didn't change the bedding, so you probably should shower." He chuckled at the disgusted look on Darren's face.

Darren dropped the plate in the sink and ran upstairs to go scrub himself clean. Once Regie finished eating, he went back to the pack room. He paused at the end of the hall when he saw Ryan lingering around the door.

Darren wasn't the only one dealing with new, unfamiliar feelings. The entire pack was, except Ty, of course. Usually, this would happen when a pack member presented or introduced a new member to the pack. Even though this situation wasn't a typical situation, it still resulted in the same shift in dynamics and need for adjustment.

Ryan spotted Regie at the end of the hall and walked off in the other direction. Regie went to the room and went inside, and he made a note to talk to Ryan later. He saw Kane curled up in the bed, asleep, and he got onto the bed to lay with him. Kane snuggled up to his side, and Regie couldn't help but smile. Soon Regie was dozing off as well.
