Chapter 16

After Atid's confrontation with the bullies no one dared to come near Aroon. Niran took care of Aroon in Atid's absence. Slowly Aroon starts to get back to his normal self. He no longer suffered from nightmares and sleepless nights. He starts going out with his friends and smiling frequently. Atid is happy to see his old Aroon back.

As things are getting better on this front, some new problems starts coming in their life. Aroon's parents and Mr.Suwan approach Atid saying that they want to meet Aroon. Atid denied their request as he is concerned for Aroon's mental health but they kept on pestering him. Finally he decides to talk to Aroon about this.

A hectic week has come to an end and Atid is enjoying his day off with Aroon. Atid decides to talk to Aroon about his parents request.

Atid: Aroon

Aroon: Hmm

Atid: Your father called me yesterday.

Aroon: WHAT?

Atid: Relax Aroon. It's nothing bad. They just want to meet you once.

Aroon: But I..

Atid: Don't worry. I didn't promise anything to them. I just told them I will talk to you. It's your decision whether you want to meet them or not.

Aroon: Will you be there with me when I meet them?

Atid: Ofcourse. I will not leave you alone.

Aroon: Okay. I will meet them.

Atid calls Aroon's parents and asks them to meet him at his condo. He wants Aroon to be in a familiar environment. So he chose their home as the meeting point.

Later that day:

Aroon is waiting impatiently for his parents to arrive. He is not excited to see them. He just wanted this to be over soon so that he can be relieved of this stress. He no longer expects anything from his parents since they long abandoned him.

The doorbell starts to ring. Atid gets up from the couch to open the door but Aroon stops him.

Aroon: Let me.

Aroon walks up to the door and opens it  with a poker face. He didn't want to show his parents that they had any effect on him. As he opens the door, he comes face to face with his mom, dad and Mr.Suwan. They looked at him with unreadable expressions.

Aroon: Hello Mr and Mrs Anananda, Mr.Suwan. Please come in.

He could see the shock on their faces as he addressed them formally. They walked into the living where Atid is sitting waiting for them.

Atid: Please sit down.

They sit down and look at each other awkwardly.

Aroon's mom: How are you Aroon?

Aroon: I am good. How about you Mrs.Ananada?

Aroon's mom: Why are addressing me formally? I am your mom.

Aroon; All our relations ended on the day you agreed with Atid to let me go in return for your business funding. I am no longer your son. I am Aroon Chanthara, husband of Atid Chanthara.

A smile appeared on Atid's face on hearing Aroon's reply.

Aroon's dad: Since you are saying that we are no longer related, let's cut this crap and get to business.

Aroon: Now you are talking Mr.Ananada. How can I help you?

Aroon's dad: We need to talk with you in private.

He looks at Atid as he spoke that sentence.

Aroon: You can say whatever you want  right here, right now. Atid is not going anywhere. He is my husband and there are no secrets between us.
