Chapter 21

Aroon woke up feeling groggy. He looked around and is surprised to find himself in a hospital. How did he end up here? Suddenly he remembers the last conversation he had with Atid and the first cut he made on his wrist. He cursed himself for being alive. Why didn't anyone let him die? With Atid gone from his life, he did not have any reason to live. A tear escaped his eyes as he thought of Atid.

"Atid"

"Aroon"

Aroon was shocked to hear Atid's voice. He looked towards his side and is shocked to see Atid sitting there holding his hand.

Aroon: Atid

Atid: Why did you do this Aroon? Why?

Aroon: I...I felt lonely when you left me. I felt like I am all alone in this world and no one needs me. I didn't know what else to do.

Atid: But you are the one who wanted to leave without even telling me.

Aroon: No..No..No. I never wanted to leave you. I was just going to your dad's house. I just wanted some time to think. I wanted to talk to dad about my feelings. I wanted to clear my mind before I confessed my feelings.

Atid: Why didn't you tell me Aroon?

Aroon: You never gave me a chance to explain. You just assumed the worst and walked out on me. You talked about divorce Atid. I was in shock.

Atid: I am sorry. I am so sorry Aroon.

Aroon: Please don't leave me Atid. I cannot imagine my life without you. I know our marriage is just an arrangement to get me out of an unwanted marriage. But I fell in love with you. I fell so deeply that I cannot imagine a life without you. You don't have to love me. Just let me stay near you. Don't push me away from your life.

Tears started to flow from Aroon's eyes while he said those words.

Atid: Do you think you are the only one who has fallen in love?

Aroon looks at Atid in shock.

Atid: I tried so hard not to get close to you or have feelings for you. But you barged into my heart and made it yours. I was so broke when I thought you were leaving me without even telling me. I thought you never loved me. I didn't want to show you how broke I was by your action. So I talked about divorce. I stood outside the apartment door and cried my heart out. I knew I would come begging the next day asking you not to leave me. So I asked you to stay in the apartment and also asked Niran to accompany you so that you won't go anywhere.

Atid's tears starts falling as he talks about the pain he went through that day.

Atid: I never thought you would do something so stupid. What if Niran had come there a little late? I would have lost you Aroon. How would I live after that? I would died too Aroon, I would have died too.

Aroon hugs Atid as all bottled up emotions came out as tears.

Aroon: I am sorry Atid. I am so sorry. I will never do like this again.

Atid: Promise?

Aroon: Promise.

Atid: I love you Aroon.

Aroon: I love you Atid.

Atid: Please don't leave me ever again.

Aroon: I won't.

Atid looks at Aroon and they get into an eyelock. Their faces kept moving towards each other until there was just an inch gap between their lips. Atid looks at Aroon asking for his permission. Aroon covers the gap between the lips and kisses Atid with all the love in his heart. They could feel each other's love and longing in that kiss. Atid ends the kiss unwillingly but they were short of breathe. Atid looks at Aroon whose eyes looked glazed and lips are swollen because of the kiss. Atid wanted to eat him whole but controlled himself as he didn't want to scare him with his excitement.
