I couldn't believe it.I was walking with Ezekiel Knight.
Well, Peter's with me too, but still! I'm walking with my crush. And here I thought my crush (more than a crush) on Zeke was starting to go away.
What a joke.
"Do you want shawarma?" Peter asked, tugging on my hand, looking at a shawarma stall to our right.
"Yes! Zeke, what about you?" I ask Zeke who was walking beside me.
"Sure," he smiles a small smile.
"Aight, I'll go get it. Anything specific Zeke?" Peter looked at Zeke questioningly. His tone sounded a bit off, almost like he was irritated.
"Whatever she's getting," Zeke nudged me.
Oh my god. Oh. My. God.
Peter walked away with a nod, shot me a look. A look I know all too well. He was silently asking me to contain my excitement so that I don't embarrass myself in front of my crush.
Assignment understood; excitement contained.
"You two seem pretty close," Zeke spoke up.
I looked at Peter's retreating back and nod.
"Yeah. I guess we are."
"Since when do you guys know each other?"
We started walking slowly around the stalls.
"We went to the same grade school. He was the first friend I made on my own so I'm pretty proud." I grinned.
"That's nice."
"So, do you have a childhood friend in our school?" I asked casually.
"Yeah," his eyes glazed over for a second--he didn't seem to want to elaborate. "You know her actually, Sierra Stevens."
"Ahh," I nodded. "She doesn't seem to like me very much."
Zeke looked at me with a blank expression making me frown.
"I'm sorry about what happened the other day at school. I didn't expect her to act that way, she's just really unpredictable sometimes."
I waved it off.
"It's fine."
"Well I hope we can start over since she'll be here any minute now." Zeke scratched the back of his head.
"Thanks for the heads up."
Okay, I will vanish before I see Sierra Stevens, because I'm so sure she will spoil my mood, and she's not worth it.
"Oh, it's the least can do. I still feel guilty about that day."
Oh gosh he's so sweet even though I don't know which day he's mentioning. Well, it's the thought that counts. But I'll still vanish.
