It was almost surreal.
Ezekiel Knight was trying to climb up my room.
"Rapunzel, throw your hair down," he yelled as soon as he arrived.
It's not like I was peeping my head out from my window every minute to see if he'd arrived, but when he did, I didn't want the night to end.
I wished that time stopped.
I giggled when I saw his attempt at getting up to my room.
"There's a ladder right there," I informed, putting my head out of the window.
I might or might have not hidden a ladder between the bushes on the side of my house where my room was situated, as soon as I received his message.
I was breathless by the time he climbed up and leaned on the window.
"That was tough," he breathed as soon as he tumbled inside my room.
"Hi," I grinned.
"Hey." He mirrored my expression.
We just stared at each other not saying anything for a while. (Maybe that's because I was rendered speechless because Ezekiel Knight was leaning over my windowsill).
Talk about unbelievable.
"Are you going to let me in or should I get comfortable?"
I blushed furiously and ushered him inside the room, feeling embarrassed. Well, even though we were in a relationship (just how?!) and totally skipped the dating part, I was still a little flustered and embarrassed around him.
He does not know that I had a crush (more than crush) on his for a long time, but maybe I'd tell him today. Maybe.
I watched him look around my room, so I took my time to relish in the fact that things were happening in my life. With Ezekiel Knight.
"Is that the sixth grade chess club?" Zeke leaned in to look at my pin board on the wall above my study table.
"Yeah," I nodded, standing beside him.
I joined every club that Zeke was in. And he was so busy as a sixth grader that he joined around seven clubs, including a club for board games.
The yellow serial lights in my room served the snug ambience in the room.
"Wait, is that you?" He leaned his head forward.
"Uh, yeah, that is me," I nodded and chuckled awkwardly.
"I think I remember Pete being in the club, but wow, I never knew you were there," he hummed, scanning through the other pictures.
He remembers Pete but not me. Okay that might take a while to settle in. Because the guy that I've been madly and stupidly in love with does not remember me.
