I hated math

I hated math. From the bottom of my heart.

It was something I never liked.

But here I was, working on stupid math problems.

The pre-met was done for, and a magazine was out featuring Pete's parents on the front cover, and pictures from the pre-met were decorated on the pages of the magazine, and I found a picture of Pete and I, looking at each other funnily.

But after all that, I showed up at school, not really giving much thought to my fame. Because as soon as Aryan dropped me off, I was swarmed up by students. They were fanning around me like paparazzies.

I didn't even think about how I might get recognized publicly.

I pushed my way in and texted my friends, found out they were hiding in one of the old buildings, since Tyler and Peter were ambushed too.

Tyler looked so pissed off.

"I'm not complaining that I became famous over night," he looked at all of us, "but what the fuck."

Peter was smoking as usual, but Paige was quick to pull his cigarette out from his mouth with narrowed eyes.

We all needed to wrap that idea around our heads--they were dating now.

Then I met up with Vikram Kali, and introduced him to the squad. He was easy to be around, and I felt bad for him to end up in this school, since he was ambushed too.

After my terrible math hour was over, we were all huddled around the lunch table, with mouth watering variety of food before us. Vikram blended in with us quite easily.

"We need to receive special treatment here on, we're celebrities,"  Tyler complained, stuffing his face with a lettuce from his burger.

"Pete's been a celebrity for a long time, he didn't get any special treatment," Paige commented.

"That's because he's been flying below the radar," Tyler drawled.

I nodded.

"You're agreeing with that?" Paige asked, sounding annoyed.

"It's true, he's never been ambushed before." I shrugged.

"I'd rather not," Peter rolled his eyes.

"I want to stop coming to school," I groaned, lazily shoving Trixie, trying to get her attention away from her phone.

"Your parents would never let you," Peter quipped, opening his tetra pack, putting a straw through it.

"That's not healthy," Paige gently grabbed the pack from him.

Or at least tried to.

Peter held on to it.

"But I like it," he pulled it closer to himself and began stomaching it.
