Chapter 10: Goodbye

Chapter 10:

[Haru's POV]

I think I'm ready to confess to Draken, I want him to know how I've been feeling for almost a decade. I've loved him for so long, it's about time I tell him, right?

"Should I wait with you until Draken comes?" Mitsuya offered, I smiled and shook my head, politely declining his offer.

"I'll be fine alone, I have a lot to think about before he comes," I said as we both got up from our seats, "I'll walk you to your bike,"

We both then headed to his Impulse. On our way, we saw Draken and Emma walking. 

"I'll see you later, I'm sorry I can't walk you home," Draken told Emma, Emma smiled and waved goodbye to Draken. 

As Emma left, Mitsuya was about to approach them but I held his hand to stop him. Something doesn't feel right about this.

At that exact moment, Takemichi arrived with his friends from Mizo Middle School. I quickly pulled Mitsuya behind a wall and gestured him to keep quiet so we could listen to their conversation. 

"Draken-kun!" Takemichi greeted Draken,

[Draken's POV]

"I can't go to the arcade with you," I told Emma who looks quite confused that I suddenly said no to her. "I promised Haru we'd meet up,"

"She really means a lot to you, huh?" Emma said with a hint of sadness in her voice, I suddenly felt bad for bailing but I can't always keep doing this to Haru, I've left her hanging so many times, I want to at least show her I'm not a shitty person.

"I'll make it up to you some other time, tell Mikey I'm sorry I can't come," I told Emma, she smiled and nodded, "I'll see you later, I'm sorry I can't walk you home," She smiled and waved goodbye as she ran off.

I feel terrible about all of this,

I'm also confused on why Haru suddenly wanted to meet me, wasn't she with Mitsuya? Is she going to tell me that they're together now? Just the thought of them together is making me feel queasy.

I held the picture of Haru and me during the carnival in my pocket, I tried to get rid of this picture but I just couldn't. I know I said I'll choose Emma but I can't get Haru out of my head. 

I want to tell Haru, I want to tell her I think I like her.

"Draken-kun!" Takemitchy called out from afar, he was with his middle school friends.

"Takemitchy, what are you doing here?" I asked, 

"They wanted to buy some magazines," Takemitchy said, I looked over to the small guy with glasses, he was holding a paper bag full of adult magazines. I just ignored it and turned to Takemitchy again. "So what are you doing here at this hour?"

"I'm meeting someone," I answered bluntly, he then gave a sly smirk,

"Going out on a date with Emma-chan, huh?" He teased, 

"It's--," I tried to tell him I was meeting with Haru but he continued to tease me,

"I always knew you liked Emma-chan," Takemitchy said as a matter of factly, "I could see how much you really cared about her, and she really cares about you a lot too,"

Emma really cares about me...

"I'm actually going to meet Haru," I told Takemitchy as I brought out the photo, I then held tighter in my hand.

"Oh," He said, surprised. "I just saw her with Mitsuya-kun a few minutes ago, I thought they were on a date, they looked so sweet together,"

My heart sunk a little, but I do know that for a fact. I saw them together too, but hearing someone else say that hits different.
