Chapter 35:

[Draken's POV]

I feel like this is long overdue and I don't want to waste any more time. The shop isn't even important anymore, at first, I just wanted to be secure enough so that if ever we wanted to start a family we would be ready but that doesn't seem to matter anymore, what's important Haru,

I want to be the one who would fulfill her dreams, 

I want to give her the family she has always dreamt off,

We're not getting younger and I don't want to have any more regrets,

I've been keeping this ring for so long, it's about time I gave it back to her, this time as a real engagement and wedding ring. I'll get her a real one soon,

"We've been together for 12 years, I made her wait for far too long already," I explained to the two who looked quite stunned, 

"You're kidding me, right?" Mitsuya finally spoke up after a long silence, "Are you for real?" He scoffed which completely caught me off guard,

"Excuse me?" I questioned, unsure where is this passive-aggressive response coming from,

"You disappear on her for 3 weeks, giving her the cold shoulder and now you just want to waltz back into her life with another marriage proposal?" Mitsuya asked, 

"Mitsuya--," Mikey tried to stop the Mitsuya but it seems like Mitsuya has more to say, and when I say more, I meant a lot more.

"You're just sending another marriage proposal her way because you know she won't say 'no' to you, this isn't about her, is it? You're only doing this to feed your ego," I have never seen Mitsuya this ticked off before, he was known to be the calm and collected one in Toman so to see him this angry was a sight to see, 

"What the fuck are you talking about?" I was not going to stand here and be insulted, I grabbed Mitsuya by the collar and was ready to punch the living daylights out of him, "What do you know about Haru and me, anyway?"

"I know for a fact that she's been visiting YOUR shop that she's been paying for and begged you to talk to her but you keep kicking her out," Mitsuya said as he swiped my hand away from his collar, "I know that she's been trying to contact you non-stop but you've kept ignoring her like you two didn't live most of your lives together. You even have the decency to tell her to her face that you still love Emma even after being with Haru for over a decade?"

I agree, that was an ass move by me,

"And now, you actually have the balls to ask her to marry you after treating her so badly? You must be out of your mind," Mitsuya continued angrily, his fist was clenched so hard, he was obviously trying his best not to smack me in the face,

"I didn't know it was that bad," I heard Mikey mumble under his breath, surprised by Mitsuya's revelation about my recent relationship with Haru,

"If you want to marry her then why are you here with Emma?" He hissed bitterly, "You missed every single fucking important event in Haru's life because you were always here at the cemetery with Emma, Haru was never your priority, and marrying Haru is just a poor excuse for you to make up for all the horrible things you've done to her,"

That's not true, I really do want to spend the rest of my life with Haru, I want to give her the family she's always wanted,

 "During her college graduation, you said you were caught up at work so you couldn't make it but in reality, you were here at the cemetery telling Emma you regret being with Haru, right?" Mitsuya added, "Haru asked me to drive her here and she saw you, she heard everything you said to your dead girlfriend that day,"
