Chapter 29: There Will Always Be a Downside

Chapter 29:

"Haruka-sensei~ I need you to do this reports for me," Sakura said as she handed me these stacks of paperwork that was due in 2 days.

These were paperwork that was given a month ago and she hasn't started any of it yet!.

 "Alright," I replied as I took the stack from her desk and headed to my station to fill in HER paperwork, it's not that I'm doing this because she had control over me. I'm not scared of her, not even a little bit, but I have to win her favor too if I want to secure the promotion. If I get into her good side, she'd recommend me to her husband.

"Goodie! I promise to tell Kiyoomi that you've been a real peach!" She cooed sweetly, it made me want to stab my ears with a pen. "I'll be taking a break, I'm so tired from working so hard!" she then announces to everyone in the office, and of course, since she's the wife of the school owner, we just let her do whatever she wants.

Just one more month until the promotion, I thought to myself as I started doing her paperwork.

Mitsuya and I agreed to meet for coffee but I wasn't sure if I was going to push through with it, I still had Sakura's work to do but I didn't want to bail on Mitsuya either.

"You're early," I was shocked to find Mitsuya waiting for me outside of the faculty lounge, 

"I was in a rut, I need inspiration," He said as he approached me and helped me carry the large stack of paperwork I had to take home.

"You just need some coffee," I told him,

"And you, I need you too," He added, my eyes grew wide at his reply, was that some lame attempt to woo me so I'd buy him coffee? "I need your opinion regarding some of my sketches," He almost had me there, I'm not gonna lie.

"You know I don't have an eye for fashion," I said as we both headed out of the school and went to the cafe near the fabric store Mitsuya likes to go to.

"I know right, who matches a green inner with a brown blazer?" Mitsuya was judging my outfit for today. "I would excuse your outfit if you were colorblind, but you're not,"

"Okay~ I didn't agree to have coffee with you so you could judge me," I pouted,

We got settled in our usual booth and placed in our orders, while waiting, I started doing Sakura's paperwork while Mitsuya just sat there and watched.

"You're never usually behind on work, what's with all of this?" Mitsuya asked as he examined the stack sitting on the table beside me. 

"This isn't mine, it's Sakura's," I blurted out mindlessly, my eyes grew wide once I realized what I told him. He wasn't supposed to know!

"Sakura? Ikeda Sakura from middle school?" Mitsuya questioned, he was not thrilled to hear her back into my life again,

"Uhmm, yeah, she's married to the school's new owner," I informed him, "She's my co-teacher, nothing much about it,"

"You should have told me! Is she still harassing you? Tell me if she does!" Mitsuya was now on protective boyfriend mode, I couldn't help but chuckle every time he gets really overprotective. I find it cute, and of course, I'm touched.

"I'm fine, she bosses everyone around, not just me," I told him,

Which was kind of a lie,

I'm the only one she would always boss around even though I'm of a higher position than her, she would yell at me a lot as well, but nothing I wasn't used to, I never thought of it much, maybe because she thought I was the most reliable out of all the teachers, who knows. Plus, I was very much aware that she was taking advantage of her position as the owner's wife and the fact I was working hard to get that promotion so she could get what she wants.
