"Do you need something?" The younger questions as he stares up at Namjoon, who leans against his door frame.
Namjoon lets out a scoff, "Can you cut the attitude?" His strong arms cross against his chest as he stares down at his younger brother with bored eyes.
"No, I don't think I can since you found Jeongguk's address and drove there looking for me like a fucking stalker–"
"Watch your mouth when you speak to me," The older male scolds with a frown, and something about that sets the younger off.
"Or what?" Seokjin challenges with narrowed eyes as he stands from his bed, marching over to the older with little confidence.
He doesn't know what he's doing. His mind and body are reacting without thought, but he's too upset to back down even now. No matter how scary-looking his big brother is, he just can't.
The corner of Namjoon's lips turns up into an amused smile as he lets out a scoff. "Spend two days with that asshole, and now you think you're the shit, huh?"
"No, not at all. I'm just done with your poor attempts to intimidate me. Any other questions?" the younger sasses.
The older lets out an airy laugh, his expression clearly annoyed though he was trying not to show it. Seokjin doesn't deserve that satisfaction.
"Why are you acting like this? You want me to treat you like an adult, stop being so fucking childish," Namjoon spits out.
"Ah, I get it, hyung... I'm immature for leaving because I knew things were gonna get bad. When you bring up something traumatic that happened to me to prove your point makes you mature? That makes you wise? One of the worst things that's happened to me, and you threw it back in my face, but I'm not allowed to be angry?" He says, eyebrows furrowed and chest heaving in anger. His eyes suddenly start to water, pricking with tears, and that makes the older falter altogether. '
Namjoon is quick to step close to his brother, wanting to pull him in for a comforting hug, but the younger pulls away. He never wanted to go this far. He never wants to make Seokjin cry.
"Seokjin-ah, I didn't mean what I said," Namjoon muttered as he placed a hand on the younger male's shoulder.
The younger wipes at his cheek before dawning another frown. "Bullshit, you meant it, and you know it," he stubbornly replies, pulling out of the older's grasp once again.
"Jinnie," The older mutters with guilty eyes.
"Don't call me that until you learn how to apologize," the younger hisses.
Namjoon laughs in disbelief. He can't believe how deluded Seokjin's thinking is. The younger actually believes he's in the right here.
"I'm the one that needs to apologize? You fucking ran away, and I had no way of contacting you!"
"I'm an adult, for fuck sake. If I want to up and leave, I can. I don't have to answer you or anyone for that matter, guess what! You're not my fucking dad!"
"You know what... You can talk once you calm down and learn how to watch your mouth. I don't know where you get off thinking you can speak to me like this. I'm still older, Seokjin," Namjoon says so calmly it only pisses the younger off more.
"Really? You're really pulling the hyung card right now?" Seokjin questions in disbelief, ignoring the tears running down his face. "And to think I thought you'd actually sit and listen to how I feel, but no, you just always have to be right, huh? Fuck you."
Namjoon clenches his jaw, biting down all his words as he nods his head before letting out a deep sigh, giving up on talking to Seokjin altogether. There's no point when he acts like this.
"Right back to you, kid– Also, just a heads up, if you go anywhere this time, I will know. Goodnight," The older says with a meek, sad smile before he leaves the door, letting the door shut behind him.
Seokjin sighs as he plops onto his bed before lying his head down on his pillow, wishing everything wasn't so difficult. Wishing he and Namjoon could mend things, but that won't work. He wishes he could gain control of his spiraling emotions. Would things getting better be too much to ask?
He hears a similar ringtone from the nightstand and quickly takes the device in hand, and a smile comes to his face as he sees the caller.
"Hi?" He mumbles shyly.
"Wanna do something fun?" Jeongguk questions, getting straight to the point as usual.
Seokjin lets out a sigh as he turns onto his back. "Can't... I'm on house arrest apparently," he mutters with a frown, and Jeongguk lets out this laugh that gives him butterflies.
"Sneak out," The older says as if it was the simplest thing in the world. "Damn, this makes me feel like a teenager again."
Ah, the joys of being young and sneaking out of your house, off into the night.
Seokjin has totally done that... Not.
"There's no way I'm doing that!" Seokjin cries, shaking his head almost as if Jeongguk could see, and wow, does he feel silly.
"Look out your window."
The younger frowns as he sits up from his bed and curiously walks towards his bedroom window, and sure enough, Jeongguk was staring up at him, waving with a wide smile. Seokjin stares in disbelief as a smile twitches its way onto his face.
Jeongguk laughs before pointing at the phone, putting it to his ear, and the younger follows suit. "Just come down, babe," the older says, and the nickname sends another flutter of butterflies in his stomach; he's so sure he'll puke.
Seokjin hesitates for a moment. Things are bad enough between him and Namjoon, so what'll happen if he goes and does this? But with that bunny-like smile directed at him, how could Seokjin say no to a smile like that?
"Ok. I'm coming."
