That hopeful child-like shimmer in Seokjin's eyes is nowhere to be seen.
He's quiet and recluse.
He swears he's back to normal. He goes to work and school, helps around the house, but something is off.
Whenever that day is brought up, he doesn't say a word. He pretends nothing has ever happened, that he didn't come home and cry in his brother's arms.
He avoids the eventual conversation that Namjoon has been working up.
What can he say?
Tell Namjoon he let Jeongguk in despite everyone's warnings.
Admit that he slept with Jeongguk and that his brother is right. He is nothing but a naive idiot.
A piece of him is gone, and Namjoon knows better. Namjoon knows his little brother like the back of his hand. Seokjin can fool himself into believing things are alright, but he can't fool his older brother.
"We're going out today," Namjoon says. It's not a suggestion, more like an order.
Seokjin looks up at his brother from his phone with furrowed eyebrows. "All of a sudden?" he questions as he sits up, giving the older his undivided attention.
"I want to take you somewhere," The older says with a shrug.
The male stares at his brother quizzed, eyes narrowed before letting out a defeated sigh. "Okay." Not like he was doing anything important anyway.
"But–"
"But?" Seokjin groans, cutting off the older.
"Promise me you'll talk to your friends," The older says.
Seokjin looks down at his lap, his lips pursed together.
"I know you don't want to tell me what happened, but at least talk to Jimin. He's your best friend, and he's hurt and worried about you," Namjoon confides with so much sincerity.
Guilt hits Seokjin, and it hits him hard.
All they've ever done is show him they care. It's time for him to do the same.
The younger lets out a sigh, nodding his head weakly. "I will. I promise."
A bittersweet smile pulls onto the Namjoon face. "Get dressed then, Jinnie," he says, a hand coming up to ruffle the younger's hair.
And for once, he feels content and happy.
What would he do without his hyung?
