<...The daughter of the couple massacred on Oakwood Highway has still not been found. Authorities cannot say who killed Billy Hill. And other news reported that families are being slaughtered in their own homes with no trace of the killer left behind. Citizens, lock your doors. The killer is still lurking->
"Tch. Fuck the news."
"I don't think your next kill will be successful," I said, leaning back in my old wooden chair. Ever since I moved here a week ago, Jeff had made it clear: the sofa was his territory. I wasn't allowed near it, even though I sat on there once or twice in my first day here.
Its been a week already. Seven days of eating cereal, cleaning ash off the floorboards, and watching Jeff return at dawn covered in someone else's life. He was cold, he was loud, and he was terrifying-yet, somehow, we had fallen into a rhythm. He is unpredicatble, he can be a madman in just a snap, but I slowly getting used to it by now. Was it a good thing?
"You think I'm an average killer?" he asked, his lidless eyes narrowing.
"No," I answered calmly. "But the police patrols are increasing. They're scared."
"Why do I feel like you're worried about me getting caught?" He sounded genuinely confused.
"I am," I said with a poker face. "If you get caught, I run out of cereal. And you'll never get to kill me because I'll die of starvation first."
Jeff jumped up from the sofa, his face inches from mine. "Are you kidding me?"
"No."
I didn't laugh, even though he looked like an insulted child-a murderous, pale child who hated being mocked.
"I'll kill you," he hissed.
"I'm waiting," I challenged softly. "But I can't promise I'll give you the fear you want. Not right now, at least.."
He scoffed and stormed out. I giggled quietly. It was strange. One moment we were like bickering roommates, the next, we were the predator and the prey. I think I am slowly enjoying our dynamics, but still reminding myself that he is still a killer.
"Jeff!"
"What!?" he barked from the hallway.
"Can you be my friend?" The question slipped out before I could stop it. Jeff froze. He turned his head slowly, and I knew I had crossed a line.
"I'm your killer, and you want to be my friend?"
"I just... I want to have one. Just one, before I go." I looked away, the memory of my old friend stinging like an open wound.
"Does it make you feel good?" he asked, his voice unexpectedly calm. I nodded. "Then my answer is no." He left the house, the door slamming behind him. I sighed and headed for the kitchen. What was I thinking? Of course he will never agree to that.
I just focus my mind elsewhere and maybe have a quick meal; another bowl of cereals. And as I reached for the cereal box, the world suddenly tilted. A white-hot spike of pain driven through my skull so suddenly. Its not a normal headache, its worse than those episode of mine. "Agh!" I screamed, clutching my head as if I could hold my brain together. It felt like a hammer was pounding against my temples. I reached for the counter, gasping for air, until the darkness claimed me before I could even call his name.

"If Jeff knew about this, he would kill you."
"As if he could."
I groaned, my eyes flickering open. I am not on the kitchen floor where I fall earlier. I am now lying on a plush rug in a room that felt massive. Two figures stood over me. One was LJ---the monochrome clown I met before---his jagged grin as wide as ever. And the other was a boy who looked like he had stepped out of an old video game-green tunic, blonde hair, and eyes that bled red shadows.
"She's awake. Now what?" the boy asked. His voice had a strange, digital buzz to it.
"I guess you call Slendy, Ben." LJ chirped like a playful child. "Good morning, Princess!"
"Where... where am I?" I sat up, my head still spinning.
"You're in the Mansion, kiddo!" LJ answered. Then I rememberd the mansion I pass by in the forest before. "I saw you passed out in that dump Jeff calls a house. Since the psycho was out, I brought you here."
"Is this the place where Slender wantedme?"
"Exactly~"
"Why? What am I supposed to do here?"
Before he could answer, the air grew heavy. The temperature dropped. The tall, faceless man appeared out of the shadows as if he had always been there.
To stay here with us, child.
I gulped nervously, "Stay? But I'm with Jeff-"
"Jeffery? Are you guys in a relationship?" the boy---who was called Ben by LJ earlier---asked with a smirk.
"What? No," I said quickly. "He's my-"
"He's her killer," LJ interrupted. "The victim and the butcher, playing house. Can you believe it, Ben?"
Ben looked at me with newfound curiosity while Slender Man's presence loomed over us.
You know too much. Our faces. Our home. I ordered LJ to kill you in the forest, but Jeff interfered. He is surprisingly.. close to you.
"Close?" I whispered. "He promised to kill me once I'm broken enough. That's all."
Ben's eyes glinted. "You want to die?" I nodded. "Okay, I can settle that-"
He began to glitch, his form flickering like a corrupted file before popping up right in front of my face. That surprised me, how can a someone do that? Glitching in real life? Before he could touch me, a black tendril whipped out and snatched him out of the air.
Ben, she is not yours.
"Tsk..." Ben pouted, dangling in the air.
I looked at Slender Man, then back at the others. I felt a strange surge of genuine emotion-not fear, but a strange sort of gratitude. Because for the first time in years, I wasn't pretending to be okay. I was just... me, and I think they do not care about human emotions, they don't need to be plastics like other human usualy do. Pretending they care and stab you in the back.
"I'm sorry, but I can't stay," I said, standing up. "If Jeff comes home and I'm gone, he'll be furious. I need to go. But... thank you for taking care of me and bringing me here." I smiled at them-a real, yet, tired smile.
I am afraid you cannot, child.
I looked at Slender as I do not know if that's a threat or just simply stating the truth. And then when I looked at LJ and Ben. Their playful expressions had shifted into something darker, something more permanent.
Once you enter the Mansion, there is no way out.
