"Please!! Spare my life!!" the old man shrieked.
"You still want to live after I slaughtered your entire family?" Jeff asked, the edge of my knife grazing his neck just enough to draw a thin, ruby line.
"Y-Yes... I'm afraid to die!! I don't want to die!!"
What a pathetic prick. This coward wanted to cling to the dirt rather than join his family in the void. His terror was a physical thing, thick and cloying, and it urged his hand forward. This is what Jeff wanted to see, his victims in terror, pleading to be spared, crying like a pathetic sheep ready to be slaughtered.
"Your fear makes this inevitable," Jeff hissed.
He then sliced his throat open. No regrets, just the familiar warmth of a liquid splattered across Jeff's cheeks and dripped from his chin. He gurgled, a wet, useless sound, before he finished the job-plunging my blade into his chest, twisting, and pulling out something inside him.
"See? Your heart wants to come with me. HAHAHAHA!" Jeff laughed, the sound echoing off the blood-stained walls. As he dropped the organ and crushed it under his boot. Its sickening and slippery, which surely he enjoys during his killing spree. In fact, he believes he did show mercy by ending him immediately. And also, the world is overpopulated, starving, and poor; He is just balancing the scales. That's what he thought.
Jeff stepped out of the house, hands in his bloody pockets, feeling that post-kill hum in his veins when suddenly a familiar light of blue and red appears.
"Freeze!"
Jeff stopped. Four cops. Four guns pointed directly to his chest.
"Put your hands up! Now!" the lead officer yelled. Jeff just stared at them, and he can sense they are getting creep out just by facing him. Ah! The fears, the terror, the shivers.. it's sweeter than any dessert.
"Fine, fine," Jeff muttered, raising his hands slowly, feigning surrender. He could have ended them in seconds, but then, for some unkown reason, he remembered her voice from earlier.
There's a high chance the number of police patrolling the town increases.
Dammit. Why is her voice is inside his head? Jeff watched the officer on the left approach es with his cuffs. His instincts screamed to grab his knife, to use him as a shield and paint the lawn red, but he held back. He had a different idea.
"I can't believe you're the one behind all this," the cop said, grabbing his wrists like a vice. But Jeff just stared at him, looking unfazd, unbothered, making the police officer twitch his wrinkled face with disgusts.
"Hey, I.. have a question," Jeff suddenly asked as the cuffs ratcheted tight but he don't give a shit about it.
"What?"
"Surely you knew there's a phone from the Oakwood Highway crime scene. Make me wonder, where is it?"
The cop looked at Jeff like he was insane, even though it is indeed true. Jeff is insane. Still it baffled him, why does he care about that girl's phone. "The daughter's phone? It's at the department, asshole. Why do you care? Now move." The officer shoved Jeff toward the cruiser. He hated this, being dragged and shoved by some measly cops. 'You owe me for this, woman,' A thought came to his mind and a grin stretching his already carved cheeks.
Jeff played the cuffs around his wrists, it does not even make him scared, in fact, he is getting bored. And when they arrived, he snort. The department was a joke. Only six officers on duty, some are eating donuts, some are chatting and some are staring at him with disgusts. Jeff sat in the intake chair, eyes scanning the room until they landed on the heavy door marked Evidence Room.
