Chapter 7: The Quake

Jack POV (didn't see that coming did you?)

I was lying in my bed sleeping another sleepless night because of Sam and Percy running off to who knows where.
Today I just had this feeling that something bad was going to happen.

I guess I was right because around midnight I felt vibrations in the earth and I only feel those when there's an.....earthquake.

And it can't be a coincidence that Poseidon is also the god of earthquakes.

"Sam!" I nearly screamed. That's when my window lit up with a bright green light. I know what I needed to do.

I ran out side my shed sized cabin to find almost everyone else doing the same thing. All except for the Orpheus cabin. I swear they came sleep through a hurricane. That comment snapped me out of my daze.

I looked over to the Athena cabin and immediately spotted Annabeth which was hard because her siblings look exactly like her. I was about to run over to her but before I could even take a step Chiron yelled,"Cabin Meeting! Meet at the Big House immediately!"

Cabin Meeting where meetings about big events that happened in the camp and all the cabin leaders were required to go. Since I was the only child of Gaea I guessed that meant me too.

I was sitting around the a ping pong table with all the other cabin leaders minus Percy. Chiron noticed this right away. "Does anyone know where Percy might be?" He asked looking around.

Annabeth and I shared a look and Chiron caught it. "Mrs. Chase and Mr. McHarty do you have something to tell me?"

"Chiron um Jack and I think that the explosion had to do with Percy and Sam."

"How so?"

"Well they have been sneaking out every night these past 2 weeks and-."

"What?! And you haven't thought about following them or um I don't know telling me?"

"Oh believe me we've tried but we always end up loosing them." I said.

"Okay...." Chiron said looking annoyed. "We will talk about this later I just want to know where they are."

"I might be able to help you with that." I said. "Tonight right before the explosion I felt vibrations in the earth and that can only mean an earthquake was going down. I might be able to track them from those vibrations."

Chiron nodded. "Um there's one more thing you should know." Said one of the twins from the Hermes cabin.

"And what might that be, Connor?"

"We know why there was a Greek Fire explosion. Ummm Percy kinda gave us 10 drachmas to...." He glanced at a burly girl who looked really mad. "Borrow 4 jars of Greek Fire."

"I KNEW IT! Four jars have disappeared from the Hephaestus cabin an nobody cares now looked what happened!" Said the burly girl.

Chiron scowled at the Hermes twins. "Okay everyone settle down all of us are going to go an find Percy and Sam. Go get packed up we are leaving in 10 minutes."

Everyone filed out and as I was leaving I heard Chiron mutter,"lets see what they got themselves into this time."
