I sat atop the center console as the team stood in a circle around me, looking at me with curious eyes.

"Tama, don't you think for a second that we didn't notice what you did back in 2016" Sara said, her expression firm.

*Meow* My ears flattened.

"Wait, wait, so since when did Tama have superpowers," Nate asked in confusion.

*Meow* I've always been like this.

"Let's ask Tama a yes or no question, we won't get anywhere like this" Amaya suggested.

"Tama, nod for yes and shake for no"
Nod
"So can you understand us"
Nod
"And you have powers?"
Nod
"Are you going to harm us in anyway"
I shook my head frantically.

"Welp I guess that settles it, we have a superpowered cat for a pet" Ray shrugged, "Wait hold up, that's it? We've been living with Tama for months and we didn't even know Tama was more than just a cat." Nate interrupted him, "Well it's not like we can ask more questions, none of us speak cat." Sara said.

"I sense no hostility from Tama, he is a good kitty, aren't you, aren't you" Amaya cooed as she pets me, I purred in delight as she scratched behind my ears.

Everything soon went back to normal, although now I get to spar with the team, they've been sparring with me to see the extent of my powers and my place in the team.

________

Sara carried me in her arms as she and Jax made our way to the cargo bay to check on the loud banging and clanking down there. We walked in to see Ray and Nate sparring, "Hey! What do you think you're doing?!" She says in a stern voice. The two quickly separated, "u-uh sparring" Nate stuttered.

"Yeah, he's helping me calibrate the new suit," Ray nodded, his chest heaving up and down as he caught his breath.

"Last time y'all decide to spar y'all wrecked my cargo bay" Jax said as he looked around the cargo bay, inspecting it for damages.

"Knock it off you two." Sara glared at them before leaving with Jax and I.

"Don't make me come down here again" Sara warned them as she walked away, we could still hear them mocking her with high pitched voices.

Sara huffed and walked back in, "Hey!" she glared at the snickering trouble makers.

"What was that about?" Jax asked Sara as they walked away from the cargo bay. In no time, the clanking and banging were back, fighting sounds echoed in the background.

"You don't have brothers and sisters do you?" Sara smirked.

"Nope"

"Sibling rivalry, nothing to be too worried about" She pats his shoulder.

"This is why I'm glad I'm an only child," He sighed.

BEEP BEEP BEEP

An alarm sounded, startling me from my nap. *mreow* I slinked my way to the bridge where everyone was gathering. Amaya picked me up into her arms as Gideon informed us about the aberration.

Huh the professor seems a bit weird, smells weird too.

I narrowed my eyes suspiciously at the professor. Something about him makes my hackles raise.

"Grab your fedoras, people! We're going to the 1920s." Sara sent us off.

"I can't believe we're here" I heard Amaya over the comms, "What are you so happy about" Mick asked.
