The legion of doom

"You're all idiots" Mick grumbled out to the team as he took a bite of his sandwich.

"Excuse me?" "Pot, meet kettle Mick" "Yeah Mick, given your glass house, you shouldn't throw stones." The team all chorused in unison.

"Mixing metaphors isn't going to solve anything," The professor stopped them before things escalated.

"How about instead of bickering we figure out our next move against the speedster and his allies." Sara suggested.

I left my spot from the monitors and approached Mick, I pawed at his arms. *Meow*

The corners of his lips twitched slightly, He leaned down and offered a bite of his sandwich to me. I quickly bit down on the sandwich, firmly keeping the food in my muzzle as Mick tried to get his sandwich back.

"All you gotta do is trade the amulet, or the medallion, for the Englishman" He said, wrangling the rest of the sandwich from my muzzle. He exclaimed a small 'Aha!' as he took his lunch back.

"The only thing is I don't know how it works." Nate said, "Hmm, you're an idiot." Mick chimed as he successfully took back his sandwich.

"You want to put an artifact that can rewrite reality into the hands of the enemy and we're the idiots?" Amaya walked towards him.

"Mmh"

"Our priority has to be identifying this speedster," She said.

"Of course you'd say that. I mean he is the one that killed your boyfriend, soo..." Jax commented.

"He's at the center of this, and you can't defeat an enemy that you don't know." She countered.

"Look Amaya's right and I hate to say it, so is Mick." Sara interrupted their bickering.

"I'm not an idiot," Nate and Ray said in unison.

"Not about being an idiot, about using the medallion as leverage. But first we need to figure out how it works"

"Well in my defense, it's a mystical object. Doesn't come with a set of instructions," Nate defended himself. The professor then suggested that instead of approaching the medallion mystical they lean into their strengths and approach it technologically.

"As it happens, I have a colleague in Central City whose knowledge might prove to be advantageous," The professor said.

"Gideon, set a course for Central City, 2017. Jax sticks with Martin, and lets work on putting a name to our speedster." Sara ordered.

*Gasp* " A Temporal navigation vessel, I-I absolutely cannot believe it." I heard a voice of a stranger come into the bridge, "Um, hello, who are you?" Nate asks the new human girl.

"Hi I'm Lily, Martin's daughter." The girl said. Huh this must be the aberration daughter he was talking about. I got out of my bed and approached her, *Meow* Hello, I meowed from beside her feet. She turned around and stared at me in shock. "You have a cat?! You never let me have pets when I was a kid." She whined

"Sara, did you know about this?" Nate asked Sara when the captain entered the bridge. "Oh, I know all about this," She said as she stared at the professor with disapproval.

"What's the big deal, the professor didn't have a kid and now he does. Mazel tov" Mick said, "Thank you" Martin nodded.

"The big deal is that Lily is a time aberration, which was all well and good. Until you plucked her out of 2017 and showed her a time ship, which could cause more aberration" Sara said, emphasizing her words for effect.

I took one more look at them before leaving to find the new human girl, Lily, and make sure she doesn't do anything she's not supposed to and all that.

"Okay that should about do it," Lily said as she plugged the last cable into Gideon, "Now we just have to activate the medallion and see if Gideon can access its data," Ray said.

"Okay..... So what are we waiting for?"

"No it's just if we've underestimated the size of the artifact's data stream...." Ray trailed off

"We'll fry the ship's cpu and we'll all spend the rest of our lives stranded in the temporal zone" Lily finished his sentence.

"Ehem The ship's cpu has a name," Gideon chimed

"Sorry Gideon"

"Can we at least talk about this before you conne-" Ray activated the artifact and Gideon glitched out.

"Gideon? You still there?" Lily called out, "oh my god we killed her," Ray said, his eyes wide in panic.

"Artificial intelligence by definition cannot be killed Dr. Palmer" Gideon's head popped back out again from the hologram. The humans both sighed in relief, *Meow* I'm glad they didn't kill you, Gideon. I raised my arms to try and paw at the hologram.

"This is impressive considering we just...."

I harrumphed when the humans started talking in gibberish again, noticing that I wouldn't be getting any attention or pets anytime soon, I decided to flop on my bed, falling asleep to the sounds of Lily and Ray nerding out.

"....I get it, you didn't want kids when you first came on board this time ship. And now you have me." I heard Lily say as I woke up from my nap. She stomped off from the bridge looking visibly upset, "I- I-" The professor stuttered out. *Meow?* What happened? I tilted my head in confusion. He simply stood there, mouth gaping as he tried to recollect himself.

I shook my head and moved to follow the human offspring to try and comfort her.

I walked up to the human, her head clutched within her arms as she sobbed.

*Meow* Hi

"Heyyy Tama *sniff* Did you come to comfort me? That's sweet."

*Meow?* Are you okay?

I headbutted her hand gently, encouraging her to pet me.

"I- Oh god I can't believe I'm talking to a cat, I'm okay. It's just hard you know, finding out that you're a 'time abbreviation', all my life I've been striving to meet up to my father's reputation... But *sniff* only to find out... He didn't want me in the first place"

I placed my paws on her knees. *Meow* Don't cry, I whined. "You're so sweet, *sniff* Hey, how about we go find some treatsies?" She said, wiping her tears one last time before standing up, recollecting herself.

*Knock knock knock*

The professor entered the room cautiously, his face still guilt ridden. I shot an icy glare as I walked out of the bridge, giving the human and his offspring space to talk.

Few hours later I waved my paw at the human as Lily exited the Waverider with a smile on her face.

It seems they have made up, Good for them. I thought to myself as I made my way towards Sara.

I sat on Sara's lap as she, Nate, and Amaya discussed why a speedster would need to rewrite history. Being chased by something? Interesting. I guess we'll just have to see for ourselves.
