Perfect

Leah's POV

"What's Jake doing here?" I rode with Ness and Carlisle over to his residence. My mom and Billy were right behind us. I figured the Cullen's would be the best to ride with because they wouldn't ask me the million questions. I had enough questions of my own roaming through my head I didn't need to be bombarded with anymore. I was still in this fog of disbelief about my pregnancy but I knew I was about to see things a lot clearer once the ultrasound was completed. I took a deep breath and exited the car. Carlisle dashed ahead of me and Ness hung back. She wrapped her arms around me but said nothing. She showed me a vision of my face. I looked worried. She shared her thoughts with me.

This is a happy time Leah. Be happy.

We entered the house and Seth strode downstairs and scooped up his fiancé. He placed a playful kiss on her lips and released her.

"You just missed Jake sis, he went for a run I think he was having a pretty rough day. Well I know his morning kind of sucked," he advised with a look of concern on his face. "Are you okay?"

"Huh oh yeah. I just." As soon as I was going to try to explain without letting him know the full truth Carlisle motioned for me. "I'll be back Seth okay?" He nodded and then looked at Ness expectantly. I hoped the hybrid could keep her mouth shut. I really wanted the next person to find out to be Jacob.

"Okay Leah take a rest on the couch please," Carlisle instructed. I nervously strolled over and plopped down on the couch. I laid down and lifted my shift up because I knew I had to.

"Well, you've made my job very easy," he chuckled as he squirted that cold stuff on my lower stomach. "Don't be nervous," he said seriously and groaned. Why were these vampires telling me how I should feel? This was most definitely the biggest thing that had ever happened in my life. I had the right to be a little nervous. He smoothed the machine over my belly and after a few seconds I saw it there was something most definitely moving in there.

"Huh," Carlisle choked back a laugh. "Leah you are doubly pregnant. Twins. I'd say you're about three months. You're very small for how mature the babies look. Eat more okay?" I nodded but I was dumbfounded the man just said twins… two what was I going to do with two babies. He handed me a couple of napkins for my belly and went over to his desk.

"How are you going to break the news to Mr. Black?"

"Leah, are you still with me?" I shook my head and tried to come back and focus on our conversation.

"Two?" I asked and he laughed out right.

"It's only fitting you have a liter," Carlisle teased and I shock him a "don't mess with me" look. "I forgot it's not wise to joke with the hormonal. Were you ready to leave? Did you need a ride home or are you waiting for Jacob to return?"

"Uh no I think I may walk I need to clear my head," I murmured. After I cleaned myself up I got ready to leave. As I headed down to the living room I saw Jake talking to Ness and Seth. Some south of my belly button clenched at the mere sight of him. I tried to act natural but something felt off. I knew he was going to be able to tell as soon as he talked to me. So I was going to have to tell him soon. Like really soon.

"Hey Beta Girl, in the Cullen's lair again I see," he teased and extended his arm to me.

"Yeah, I needed to talk to Carlisle. What are you doing here?" I poked him in the chest.

"Working … because I know nothing else … unless I'm with you." He muttered the last part in my ear and it affected me just as he knew it would. I looked up at him I wanted to tell him now but I felt like the announcement was supposed to be more than me just blurting it out.

"You're frowning," he said concerned he looked as though he was mulling something over in his mind. "You needed to talk to Carlisle?"

"Yeah," I answered bluntly. He touched my forehead and began to look me over. I rolled my eyes and huffed. "Jake please, you're not a doctor and I'm not sick! I do have to go home though I need to submit a summary to boss lady and then do some editing. Don't work too late," I said before placing a tiny goodbye kiss on his lips. I strode pretty quickly out the door and just as I was about to branch out into a jog I felt someone pulling my arm. Jacob pulled me into an intense unexpected passionate kiss. He wrapped his arms around me and lifted me.

"That's how we say goodbye Miss Clearwater," he breathed as he kissed my nose. It was crazy how quickly I could become wrapped up in him. I was amazing to me how effortless I loved him and how hard it was to keep a secret from him. I relaxed into him, he smiled with is eyes closed, and rubbed his forehead against mine.

"Jake, I'm pregnant," I whispered as I watched him. His eyes opened and he looked at me with shock and happiness as he processed what I said.

"So that's why you were here," he murmured. "Carlisle?" I nodded.

"And he was sure?" I nodded again and he gave me one the biggest smiles I'd ever seen. He scooped me up and spun me around. "Leah Clearwater, you continue to make me the happiest man in the world."

"I'm sorry I didn't make tell you more special. I wanted to I just keep the secret it just wouldn't hold," I confessed while in his arms.

"Personally I think this … is perfect," he whispered and he rocked me in the Cullen's front yard.

"Perfect," I whispered and agreed that's exactly what this moment was.
