INT. COREY'S CONDO - NIGHT
James, Noah, and COREY (60's; stoic) sit at the table, enjoying dinner and wine.
COREY - So James, tell me. How'd you meet Noah here?
JAMES - It's funny. Noah randomly called me not long after another agent stood me up.
COREY - Really?? Do you remember his name?
JAMES - Richard... Richard, something. I forget.
NOAH - It wasn't Richard Kove, was it?
JAMES - Actually, it was! Yeah, Richard Kove.
Noah and Corey subtly make eye contact -- they're on the same page.
NOAH - It's a good thing he stood you up then.
COREY - If it's the same Richard Kove we know, that guy's a typical LA bullshiter.
JAMES - Really? How so?
KNOCK, KNOCK. Corey rushes to the door.
COREY - Oh! Must be Eden and Raul. I invited them over for drinks and games if you two don't mind.
James shakes his head "no". Noah tops off James' wind.
Corey opens the door to reveal EDAN and RAUL (20's; eccentric).
COREY (CONT'D) - My boys! Come in.
Edan and Raul hug and kiss Corey on the cheek.
EDAN - Hello!
RAUL - Hey everyone.
They sit at the table.
JAMES (re: himself) - Hey, James.
RAUL - Pleasure.
COREY - Edan and Raul here are set to star in my latest project, Midnight Darkness.
Corey shuffles over and pours them wine.
JAMES - That's amazing!
James looks to them, nearly starstruck.
EDAN - Don't listen to him. It's a supporting role.
COREY - That's set for greatness come award season.
RAUL - Let's hope.
NOAH (jokingly) - I'm sure the financiers hope so too.
They all laugh. James' laughter is clearly forced.
JAMES - If I can even find half as big of a role as that, I'll be happy.
COREY - Stick with Noah and I...
(winking)
... And we'll get you there.
Corey hands Edan and Raul their wine. He takes his glass and holds it out for a cheers.
COREY (CONT'D) - Well cheers everyone!
