INT. AUDITION WAITING ROOM - DAY
James and Noah sit, preparing for the audition. There are several other ACTORS and AGENTS waiting, practicing as well.
There's a slight hint of nervousness to James.
JAMES/NOAH - Unique New York. Unique New York.
Noah gestures for James to continue on his own.
JAMES - Unique New York. Unique New York.
NOAH - Perfect! And you have the script?
JAMES (pulling out the script) - Yup. Even got it memorized.
NOAH - This is why you're going places.
Noah pats James's thigh. James glances at Noah's hand.
ASSISTANT (O.S) - James Ritter?
James and Noah look to each other -- this is it.
JAMES - Coming!
NOAH - Break a leg.
He exits with the ASSISTANT. Noah proudly watches him leave.
INT. AUDITION ROOM - DAY
A small room. A CASTING DIRECTOR, PRODUCER, and the Assistant sit behind a cheap folding table. James stands in front of them, eager to begin.
CASTING DIRECTOR - Hell. And your name is?
JAMES - James
(clears throat)
James Ritter.
CASTING DIRECTOR - Hello, James. And have you memorized our lines, or will you be reading from --
JAMES - I've memorized them.
CASTING DIRECTOR - Perfect.
(and)
When you're ready,
James takes a moment. He closes his eyes, exhales, and he puts on a wide smile. Once his mouth goes ajar to speak...
