Chapter 10 - Poe and Tactics

Back at Mandalore. Probably not too far from where General Keiran Reinhard is based. Poe is on the board in a room with pilots.

"They can be invisible. The only signs you may have are trailing orbs IF you are lucky... 

What we need to do is follow a flight path...

You cannot stay immobile! They'll kill you!

Always be on the move...

When we are at the scene I will draw a flight path first and follow it then backtrack to the zone. Keep circulating the path. It won't be that far away not if we keep the speed suggested...

And once we are back in the zone a few times if we are lucky we see some orbs we shoot in that direction around it...

If it's unusually quiet go into the planet and wait for radio signals and updates. I'll give the green light."

Around a few hundred or so people were in a room in a semi-circle wave increment format. There were some aliens like a Wookie or a few, Twileks and a few other alien types too. One grumpy hairy-faced pilot looking like a cross between human and Wookie pessimistically suggests...

"But what's the point they could follow through and get us all down?"

Poe looks a little perplexed by his negativity and answers:

"The point... See this diagram... We fly to something like this distance... The point is we fight and we survive and we give updates to planetary or local radio stations"

He points on the board then a complex formula is summoned with arrows around it. The first direction is right of the planet....

"We twist up and go round here... Then we do a small maneuver around here as the enemy may suspect we are back round near or around the planet again as our second team not near our planet advances towards it and looks to pick up signals of orb lights. Basically scanning if it is crystal clear and be first onto the scene at the planet. The second team will play a key role in identifying trailing enemies. It's complicated but it's better than being blown out in space."

Another pilot suggests...

"What if they ignore us instead of following and just go straight to the planet?"

Poe replies...

"Then we well sound the alarms to them at the planet and the second team from nearby will be ready to follow them too!"

Sounds of a mini applause, cheers and optimism erupt in the lecture-style hall.

Poe looks around and in a small flash sees a large man near the top he must've missed in the crowd heading towards the exit. Poe's face is overwhelmed with not knowing what to think... Then he thinks does he know him? Although it was a side angle and very brief before the man had left. Maybe he didn't know him.

Above the board in the blackness comes a projection of a screen that supposedly was a dark background.

"General Commader Poe we have news that there is some space pirates and movement around the upper outer rim. Here are some video captures we have"

First video shows orbs and bubbles in space moving with a few spacecrafts blinking invisibility. A few visible crafts but a very dark view from the angle or region of space is presented. It then showed videos of a planetary defense system with large lasers coming under heavy laser attacks but the enemy could not be seen however a few enemy blob-shaped space vessels looking like some malicious foreign sophisticated enemy emerge and scare the crowd. One of the pilots with a cry:

"Thooose lazeeers!"

Near the top the man looking at the screen near the door is General Kieran Reinhald (in other words - Ben Solo reincarnated) who Poe saw the side of earlier but this time Poe was looking onto the screen from the center stage position. G-KR is on a phonecall now just outside where it is quieter.

"Looking better now I think they are running out of Flurochromium just maybe... Just maybe"

Must be a conversation with servicemen and generals from Dantooine.

"Next stop Nizrael-Ont..."

From the door his team of Karasov and Leina come out as Raltok and Lindro look at him from in front of him (they entered out before him it seems). Lindro with a smile of sheer optimism:

"Let's do this!"

Back in the room. Behind the presentation stage where Poe stood pops out R2-D2 with a beep of wonder. What could this mean hhmmm...

Poe wonders about Finn and Scholl and looks to R2:

"We heard from Rey about her spooky encounter but we really got to get an update from our other Jedi friends Finn and Schooll near that side of the galaxy... What do you reckon R2?"

R2-D2 with a small series of beeps like he is agreeing with Poe.

A man rushes from some of the departing seats to speak with General Poe as Poe is not sure and replies too:

"Poe did you meet General Reinhald? This man could be the key to our success!"

"General Reinhald? Who is General Reinhald?"

The man he was talking to just looks back with a blank optimistic smile. Poe looks confused like a stunned statute in comparison.
