❝ the longer the wait, the sweeter the kiss ❞

Asher high-fived Adonis as he stepped back to admire their work. "Damn we did good".

Adonis nodded in agreement, wiping the sweat off his face. They had transformed Onyx's room into something entirely out of this world. They re-painted the walls a seaweed green, drawing holographic triangles that littered across the bottom wall.

His duvet's matched the wall colour, several pillows lined across the headboard. Leon bought a massive letter O to hang above the bed and Adonis couldn't deny how good the white looked against the seaweed green.

He brought storage boxes for his toys which were on placed at the far end of the room, transforming his older playroom into another guest room so now he had a guest bedrooms and an extra room. Maybe he'd move into the spare room.

That Leon was currently sleeping in.

Small knocks came from the door and Adonis' eyes went wide. He motioned for Asher to quickly pack up and he changed out of the paint ruined shirt, leaving the room.

"I'm just gonna have a quick shower", Asher whispered to Adonis before he pulled the door open. Adonis nodded stepping outside to see a teary-eyed Onyx.

"What's wrong buddy?", he asked crouching down to Onyx's level.

Onyx pouted. "The facetime ended", he cried, wiping at his eyes. Adonis pulled him into a hug pressing a kiss to the crown of his head.

"It's okay. You're going to see him again tonight remember", Adonis reminded him, taking his hand and leading him into the kitchen.

"What do you want to eat?", Adonis asked opening the cupboards. The house was fully stocked as he had gone shopping that morning but he didn't feel like anything.

Onyx shrugged his eyebrows furrowing in concentration. Adonis pulled out the ingredients for Pad Thai moving to Onyx's side.

"I'm going to be fine Addy. Asher and Leon are going to keep me company". Onyx eyes widened.

"Leon's here?", Onyx exclaimed rushing to get off the stool but Adonis held him back.

"He's having a nap. Maybe if he wakes up before you're gone". Onyx pouted but sat back in his chair.

"You're going to be all alone the whole time", Onyx continued his honey eyes filled with sadness, staring at Adonis with wide eyes.

Adonis ruffled his hair, moving over to the stovetop. "I'm a big boy. I'll be fine". Onyx stared at him before reluctantly nodding. Truth be told, Onyx himself was nervous being away from home. He had never been on a sleepover before, specifically with Adryan. 

Asher walked into the room, with a tired Leon who clutched onto his back like a koala.

"Leon", Onyx screamed once he saw his second-best friend making his way into the kitchen, clinging onto Asher's back.

Leon let go of Asher stepping forward to catch a very excited Onyx in his arms. "Hey buddy", Leon cooed ruffling his blonde locks. Onyx smiled at him; teeth bared in happiness.

"What about me?", Asher joked, crossing his arms. Leon set Onyx back down who simply stood still waving at Asher from a distance.

Asher chuckled walking past the pair to help Adonis set the table.

It had always been like this for as long as they could remember. After Adonis' parents passed away, they became more supportive of one another. Asher and Leon knew that company was good for Adonis. They didn't want him to slip back into the dark place he once was.
