Kaede opened her water bottle and took a sip from it, watching her friend as she carefully wrapped bandages around her nimble and delicate fingers.

The blonde had found out that she had grown quite envious of Kagami during the short time they've known each other. She was as pretty as a doll, her hair was so beautiful and long, her eyes were a gorgeous brown, and her skin was perfectly imperfect. At first glance it was impossible to tell that she played a sport, let alone something as physically taxing as volleyball. Her looks were however nothing compared to her skills at the game. She made everything look so effortless; receiving, setting, blocking, serving. She was by no means perfect, but she was better than a fair few of the second and third years on the team.

Kaede was sure that if she had met Kagami at a tournament she would have hated her.

"You went pretty rough today... I think my legs are going to fall off from jumping so much," the blonde spoke, putting the water bottle next to her on the floor she was sitting on. It was currently another after school practice for the two first years.

After the most awkward morning practice in the history of morning practices Kaede and Kagami decided to just practice on their own again. As much as the younger Ennoshita would have loved to practice with the boys, the blonde could tell that Kagami was distracted by Kageyama all the time and made common mistakes she wouldn't usually make.

It's been about a week since the encounter, but Kagami, as much as she tried to hide it, was still clearly bothered by it. She was a lot less talkative (as if she ever was) and her sets have been harder to line up with than before. Kaede couldn't tell if it was intentionally or not, but she knew that she had to jump higher to actually hit the ball now.

"I don't think I played any different," Kagami only replied. She moved her fingers and looked if she bandaged them properly, after that she put away the roll of bandage in her bag.

"Uh, yeah you did," Kaede countered, "You set the ball higher and faster than before. I had to jump really high to line up with it."

Kagami looked back up at the middle blocker with surprise in her eyes. "I did?"

The other girl nodded, scratching the back of her head, "Yeah... the others noticed it too."

Kagami's face visibly fell after that. It's been a while since someone had complained about her sets. She looked back down and started to fiddle with the bandages around her fingers. "I'm sorry. I'll try to adjust."
