It has been a while since the girl's volleyball team had held practice. The week following their loss against Seijoh's girl's team nobody felt motivated to go, so they had cancelled it. The next week everyone was still feeling the blues, so they had cancelled again, but upon hitting the third week everyone agreed that it was time to get going again.
The entire team was gathered in their gym, the first and second years sat on the ground, while the third years stood before them. Michimiya clapped her hands together signalling the beginning of their team meeting, an optimistic smile on her face.
"I know that the Inter high didn't exactly go as we planned, but we gained some valuable experience and there is always the next one in October, so we should try to improve up until then."
"If this was your idea of a pep talk, it wasn't very good I gotta to be honest," Sasaki spoke up from next to the other third years.
Rinko, from in between the second years, raised her hand with a small smile, "I appreciated the attempt."
Manami, next to her, took a sip from her water bottle. "And we're back to normal already..."
As usual Michimiya ignored all the side comments and quips and continued on with her optimistic smile. "Well, no use crying over it. We just gotta work harder than before, which means that I hereby officially reinstate morning practice."
Everyone stayed quiet and stared blankly at the captain. Kagami and Kaede already practiced in the mornings, so the news weren't that exciting for them. The seconds years meanwhile were less than thrilled about the prospect of getting up early for practice once more.
Aihara, the vice captain, looked at her juniors and sighed. "You guys are so hopeless. I'm so glad we didn't retire yet..."
Yoshikawa, who was feeling rather tired that day, raised her hand, "Are we done? Can we begin practice now?"
"I suppose that's everything for now," Michimiya replied, "So, yeah. Let's do some warm ups!"
Everyone got up and stretched, but before they could start their practice, the door to the gym opened up. Everyone turned to look who it was, their after school practice was rarely interrupted.
