"We're going to replicate the deviant fast attack."
Kaede stared at the brunette with wide eyes, while her older brother spat out the water he just drank, not believing what the brunette had just said.
"That's impossible," Chikara said, wiping his mouth.
Kagami stubbornly shook her head, "It's not. I can do it. I know I can."
Kaede raised an eyebrow at that, "Are you sure it's not just your ego talking?"
The words stung a little, but it was reasonable to ask of her. And perhaps those words were right, at least a little of her ego wanted to show Kageyama that she was just as good as him. That she was able to do the same things he could, if not better.
Once again the brunette prodigy shook her head, confident in her abilities as a setter. "When I give you the signal do exactly as Hinata did. Run away from the blockers and jump as high as you can, don't worry about lining up with the ball. I will line it up for you."
"Basically, what you're saying is that I'm suppose to swing my arm in the air and hope you don't mess up?" The blonde recapped, twirling a few strands of hair in her fingers.
Kagami's look faltered, "I know it's a lot-"
"Very well. I trust you," Kaede cut her off with a smile. Kagami looked at her teammate in shock. They haven't known each other for that long, this attack was basically asking for trust that wasn't there, but she was giving it to her completely. She was either an idiot or had that much faith in her setter.
"Don't look so shocked," the middle blocker continued teasingly, "We're friends now, right? Just don't make me look like an idiot out there."
The brunette smiled and nodded at the blonde, before turning towards her older brother and bowing before him. "Senpai, if it's not too much to ask I need you to receive the next ball for me and give me a near perfect pass."
Ennoshita, complete overwhelmed with the entire situation, mentioned for the girl to stand up straight again with slightly reddened cheeks. He wasn't used to people calling him senpai yet. "I'll give it my best try."
"That's all I need."
Their short break between sets was over and everyone returned to their positions. Kageyama was serving, now a confident near smirk on his face, all the while Yoshikawa narrowed her eyes at him, watching him carefully as he threw the ball up in the air and spiked it directly towards her. It definitely had more power than the ones before.
