❝Looks like you'll be benched for this match.❞ An eleven year old Kagami paused her stretches and looked up at her coach with wide eyes.
"What? Why?" She asked, while sitting up. The rest of her teammates continued to stretch and warm up, seemingly oblivious to the conversation going on. "I'm feeling better! I swear! I can play no problem!"
The coach shook her head, "Your mother told me you're not quite ready yet. And after the stunt you pulled during practice last week, I choose to believe her over you. We need to win this match or we are out of the tournament."
Little Kagami frowned. Last week during practice she was so exhausted she tripped over her own feet and fell. She nearly broke her wrist, only nearly though. "I'm a starter you can't pull me..."
"Of course I can. For your wellbeing and that of the other players." The coach took a deep breath and crouched down to be on eye level with the little girl. "I like you Yoshikawa and you're a very talented player, but you need to properly get back on your feet or else it could harm you in the future. Being benched is not the end of the world."
The coach gave Kagami a soft pat on the back and got stood up again, turning to a different member of the team. "Now, Mishima. Since Yoshikawa isn't feeling well, I need you to be our starting setter for this match."

"You think she's doing okay?" Kaede paced up and down the empty corridor with a worried look on her face.
After Yoshikawa fainted both the girls and boys made sure she was stable before bringing her to the nurses office. The nurse then assured them that the Yoshikawa girl was fine, and so the second and third years decided to head back and clean up the gym, while the first years stayed and waited for her to wake up (orders from Sugawara and reinforced by Aihara).
Tsukishima, who was leaning against a wall with Yamaguchi next to him, rolled his eyes at the blonde. "I think she's doing the same since you asked five minutes ago."
Kaede stopped and glared at Tsukishima, before continuing to pace in front of the door. Yamaguchi meanwhile looked incredibly anxious, over the last few weeks he really liked spending time with the setter. He hoped she would be okay. "I can't believe she wouldn't tell us she was sick..."
