Getting over one's first love was always a task people people deemed hard. Ophelia Greengrass, however, finds it to be even harder as she has to get over her first love whilst being engaged to his little brother.

it was beautiful.
when you would think of a wedding for those in the sacred twenty-eight, you would think of a dull civil union between two unhappy people. they would go to the ministry to register their marriage and head to their house and having meaningless intercourse to bare a child.
yet it wasn't for ophelia and regulus black. after registering their marriage, they headed back to the greengrass manor—where they had a very large gathering with their friends and family.
some adults were inside the manor, drinking some fire whiskey while talking to other adults. the backyard had children running around and some grandparents just peacefully eating the catered (but homecooked by mrs greengrass) food.
evan rosier and venus parkinson were fussing over the latter's brother in one table. oliver, venus' brother, was a squib and the parkinson family's #1 secret. he wasn't even supposed to go, but with the assurance that their parents weren't coming to wedding, he was able to sneak him.
"i'm fine!" oliver hisses as his sister twirls the pasta and tries to feed him with it.
"leave the kid alone, venus," evan chuckles as he gently grabs his girlfriend's shoulders and makes them lean on him. "he says he's fine!"
venus huffs as they move away and their eyes ended up on the duo also sharing their table. "so, when'd you guys make up?"
caroline crouch and cherry osborn turn their eyes at a direction that wasn't each other (something that hasn't happened since the night started) and smile. they broke up some months ago for reasons no one really knows yet here they were, touching and kissing as though they were the ones that just got married.
"it was the wedding fever," cherry shrugged as she kissed caroline on the cheek, a smile on both of their faces.
"well, i'm sure ophelia would be glad that she and rgeulus were the reason why you guys got together," mary yaxley jokes. she was beside her partner, steve zabini, smiling just as much as the other couple. "merlin know she didn't stop smiling for a month when steve and i got together 'cause of her."
"wait, really?" evan says.
steve laughs, recalling the memory. "ophelia was supposed to tutor me but had to cancel on of our sessions cause she had a date with sirius. so she sent caroline as a replacement and that was the first time i saw her as something besides my roommate."
the group let out a series of 'awww's until oliver made a vomiting sound. everyone turned their heads towards the kid's direction and he shrugs. "i'm okay with the gay thing, yeah, but love is just... ew."
