For fuck sake, who is so fucking irritating. I thought to myself as I was woken by the irritating sound of my phone.

Dearest Mother Of Mine.

Your father and I think you must come home this weekend.

Dearest Mother Of Mine.

I hope you are not still asleep at this hour.

Dearest Mother Of Mine.

We will see you later this afternoon.

God no matter how old I am, they will try to rule my life.

Me

I will be there tomorrow Mother. Xxx

That is better than nothing right? Seems not because just after I send that message my phone starts to ring.

"Who's so fucking annoying?" Ava asked as she stirred awake.

"No one, just go back to sleep," I say, standing up to take the call in the living room.

"Hello," I answer.

"Is that how you greet your mother?" God, does this woman have no end?

"Good morning, Mother," I say, not even caring that It does not sound any better.

"Your father and I want you home this afternoon."

"I can't come home this afternoon; I haven't even packed." Sure, I can pack in 15 minutes, but I rather tell her otherwise than tell her the real reason why I cannot come this afternoon.

"This is not a discussion; I'll have dinner ready for when you arrive. Oh, and dress something decent, we have a guest coming over" And with that, she hangs up.

And that is why I am not a morning person. Especially if I did not have my cup of hot chocolate.

Speaking of my chocolate goodness, I decided to put on the kettle.

While I was drinking my cup of hot chocolate, Ava came into the kitchen. Rubbing out the sleep from her eyes, I hand her a cup.

"So, I have to tell you something." I begin. "My partner wants me to go home." I continue.

"Oh okay, I have to go home this afternoon as well. So, we can spend the day together and then you can go home tomorrow." She speaks.

"They want me home this afternoon," I tell her.

"Then we can go together, I can drop you off and then I'll head to my place."

"No, It's fine. I'll drive with my car; I still have to pack so." I say hoping she would just accept that.

" Mel it is no problem. It's on my way to my house." She continues to insist.

"Ava it's fine," I say, hoping that she would just drop it.

"Why don't you want me to drop you at home?" He asked, and I could see something close to fear in her eyes.

"Ava...please you have to understand." I start, as I walk closer to her.

"No Mel! Why don't you want me to take you home?" I know that she knows why, but she wants me to confirm.

At first, I stay silent. Not wanting to say, what needs to be said.

"What happened to not staying within the shadows? What happened to, not staying hidden who you are Mel? What happened to not letting your parents control your life?" I know she is right.

"I'm sorry, but I can't. Not until I tell my parents on my own time." I plead with her. I try to take her hand, but she pulls away.

"And when is the 'right time' Mel?" She asked, but I could see a wall going up. Her expression is blank.

"You know that's exactly why I couldn't do this, yet I thought that maybe. Just maybe, you would for once take control of your life. I guess I was wrong." She says after I stay silent. With that, she turns and walks to my bedroom.

I decided to leave her alone, as I am sure she does not want to see me.

I was in the shower when I heard the front door open and slam shut, indicating that Ava had left and had.

"And when is the 'right time' Mel?" That fucking sentence does not want to leave my head.

I mean when is the right time to tell your parents that you are still in love with the woman whose heart you were forced to break?

I know the moment that I tell them they are going to either tell me that she brainwashed me, or disown me.

With that thought in my head, I started packing to head home for the weekend.

God this is going to be one hell of a weekend. And not the good kind, I can feel it.
