Ava and I haven't talked about what happened in the kitchen or when I was drunk.
Tonight, Nate is taking me out. I felt bad because I hadn't spent so much time with him. My mom is handling most of the wedding arrangements. And we decided to get married on the 12th of May next year.
We were sitting in a restaurant, again. Honestly, that's our date. We go to a restaurant, eat food, talk, and go home. Boring, I know.
So here I was talking to Nate about our classes and how our day went. When a voice interrupted that I wished I would never have heard again.
Lizzy.
"Heyy, Natie. What a surprise to see you hear." She says pushing her boobs almost out of her too-tight dress. Honestly, how can she even breathe?
Looking at Nate, I just can't pinpoint the look on his face. "Hey, Lizzy. What are you doing here?" Nate asks looking at her.
"Oh, you know just visiting a...friend." She says looking at me. What the fuck does that mean. "Well, I would like to say it's nice to see you, but I would be lying. But we are on a date, so if you don't mind, please leave." I say not even trying to force a smile.
She looked shocked for a moment, but it quickly vanished into an evil smile. Looking at Nate. I can see him getting nervous. I frown.
"Wel you two love birds should enjoy, I'll see you later." She says winking at Nate.
I get Lizzy is just looking for attention and drama, but I can't help but feel that something is wrong.
I don't know why; Nate is one of the most loyal guys I know. If someone is disloyal it's me. Maybe I'm just being paranoid.
Trying to push that gut feeling away, but it just doesn't want to. Something just feels...off. I just don't if it was the way Lizzy looked at Nate or the way how nervous Nate became.
After dinner, Nate dropped me off at my apartment. I couldn't help but go into staking mode. I don't know why I haven't done it before, searching for Lizzy on Instagram and Facebook.
I found out that she has a younger sister, a model, not surprised, and she is studying at the same university as Ava. So, the question is.
What was she doing here?
"Okay, so what you are saying is that. Lizzy showed up at your date and flirted with Nate, she doesn't go to a university here, Nate was nervous, and you have a gut feeling something is off?" Anna asked while we sat at Kate's the next day.
I nod. "Yeah, and I know what you are going to say. I know I'm just paranoid because of what happened between Ava and me, but I can't shake the feeling that something is wrong." I know what happened between Ava and me is wrong, but I haven't felt that way in years.
Not even with Nate.
"This has nothing to do with you and Ava. Something is going on and we are going to find out what." She says with a look of determination. If she puts her mind to something she will succeed.
"Okay, Miss Detective," I say smiling. I'm so glad to have a best friend who would go to the ends of the earth, and I would do the same for her.
After we had our brunch, we just caught up. Turns out the guy who picked her up at my place with the sleepover, was Sam and as I suspected, it didn't last.
"You remember about tonight, right?" Last weekend Bianca and I decided to have a sleepover because I want her to meet Anna. I think they would get along very well.
"Of course, If I don't bring the booze then who will," she says with a smile. Rolling my eyes.
Feeling relieved, because Bianca means Ava and I don't know if I'm ready to be alone with her just yet.
"Just please remember your mattress," Anna said she would bring her air mattress because I don't have a guest bedroom. So, we were thinking of making a family bed in the living room.
"Yeah yeah. Are you sure this is a good idea? I mean with what happened between you and Ava." I haven't told Anna about the kitchen incident yet. And I don't think this is a good idea, but all I have to do is not end up alone with her easily, right?
"Yeah, I was drunk, and it was a mistake so it wouldn't happen again." God, I'm not drinking tonight. It can't happen again.
"We'll see." She says with a known smirk.
