Early the next morning, Scott scampered down to the Clock tower, searching for some quietness. Bubbleina and Dusk (Sixth Years), sat in the centre of the courtyard on the mossy fountain, holding hands.
"Hi Scott," Bubbleina squeaked, punching Dusk in his ribs.
"Ow! Oh, hey Scott," Dusk replied, rubbing his ribs.
"Hi," Scott replied to them both,"I'm just going to go across the bridge." Scott hiked across the rickety wooden bridge, then up the steep hill to the Owlery. He sat in silence, recollecting the events of last night, staring through the Office door. What were they talking about?
Who was this "He" they spoke of?
The voices of the Professors scattered around in his mind, nagging and thrashing at him.
SWOOSH.
A great barn owl swooshed through the open windows in the Owlery, making Scott's hair dance across his head. It released a letter tied tightly together with a piece of brown tinted string. Scott ruffled the letter open, unfolding it in his hands.
Hello,
We're having a party on the 31st of October in the Ghost Ballroom, bring an outfit and a friend if you wish!
~ MissandraScott didn't like party's, and all he knew was that Missandra was a Ravenclaw in his year. The morning grew into the afternoon as time passed, and Scott could see the year twos travelling down the crumbled stone path to Care of Magical Creatures.
Ouch! Dayved held his foot as it throbbed in pain from tripping on a rock loose from the path. Dayved was a year two, and was one of Scott's greatest chumps. Down at the bottom of the hill, Professor Peverell stood in his long fur Hufflepuff robes, his arms folded glaring at Dayved, as he was late for class. They all crowded around Prof. Peverell, staring at what he held in his hands. It was a Flobberworm, squirming and wriggling in his hands.
"Ew!" Regulus said, staring at it with a disgusted look.
"Oh, grow up Reg, it's just a small creature, that's all," Rilianne said.
"Flobberworms are not particularly fascinating creatures, but they do like to eat lettuce and cabbage, and can also grow up go ten-inches long," Prof. Peverell said, cupping the worm in his hand. Dayved drifted off, his face sliding against the wall of the Games Keeper hut.
Later that day...
"I mean, I don't think he saw you," Kassie said to Ellie, as they walked down the corridor to Charms.
"I ran into the wall!" Ellie said angrily, "how could he have not noticed that!" Kassie rolled her eyes, and opened the door, and marched into the classroom. It seemed as though it was a Gryffindor and Slytherin Charms class, Scott and Dayved sat up on the top of the benches, and Rilianne and Regulus sat three rows down, with more Gryffindors behind them. On the right of the classroom, Slytherins piled into the bleachers, almost like it was a stadium. Wes and Natalie were talking about the difference between an Animagus and a Metamorphmagi, as Kassie took a seat behind them and separated from Ellie. Dayved and Scott passed notes to each other, right under the Professors nose; not noticing. The bell rang throughout the corridors, drifting into the classroom. Regulus and Rilianne hopped off to the Great Hall for dinner, and Dayved, Ellie, and Scott scampered up to the Gryffindor Tower, to catch up on what has happened over the summer.
