Sagittaria's POV

All I could think about was the first class, only five hours till it starts. Butterflies filled my stomach, and it ached. My head felt blurry and I couldn't think straight. What would the first task be? I couldn't think at all, so I pulled my robes on, tied my hair back, and headed down to the Great Hall for breakfast. Stelth was at the Hufflepuff table, so I sat down beside him.
"Nervous?" he said.
"Um...a little," I said.
"Eat up, you need your strength," Stelth said, waving a plate of eggs and bacon in my face.
"No, I don't really have a sense of appetite right now."
"How can you turn down bacon and eggs?" Stelth said, looking revolted.
"Not right now Stelth." I hopped from the bench, "I'll see you later."
"Alright, see you," he replied.
I waved to Ellie, Scott and Dayved at the Gryffindor table, and they returned in giving me a thumbs up. Walking up the Grand Staircase, I headed for the library, looking for some quietness and a place to look for defensive spells. I knew it was a little late to try them, but I needed the comfort of knowing some.

Kassie's POV

Students were leaving the grounds of the castle, travelling to the coliseum. Scott and I walked behind them, holding our toques on our heads so they didn't blow away. I looked so rad in my Slytherin scarf and clothes, I didn't want them to fly away on me. The coliseum hasn't been used in ages, so it's quite old. Scott and I talked about Blake and Ellie, how they were perfect for each other. When we arrived at the coliseum, Scott and I found the best seats, except they weren't very comfortable.
"What do you think the task will be?" I said.
"I originally thought dragons, but this coliseum is decorated like a forest, and I'd except rocky terrain for dragons, so I'm not sure."
Gwyndololyn Gregorovitch; Head of Gryffindor, stood up at the front of the coliseum. She held her wand to her neck.
"Silence!" she said, her voice echoing over the mountain.
"Welcome to the first task!"
I clapped and cheered, and everyone else did.
"Let the challenge be released," she said. A large metal barred gate yielded open, and a gigantic black furred dog ran out, thrashing its teeth.
"The dog has three heads!" Scott said, "I'm worried for Sagittaria."
"Me too," I said.
"First champion, is Sagittaria Chang!"
A second gate opened up, and Sagittaria stood holding her wand, dressed in Champion robes of gold. Sagittaria lurched forwards into the trees, being cautious.

Sagittaria's POV

I held my wand out in front of me, cautious of my surroundings. What was I supposed to be looking for? I felt the cold crisp mountain breeze against my face, as I walked slowly forward. It was quiet, too quiet.
*CRACK*
I spun around quickly as a gigantic dog crashed through the trees barreling towards me. I scrambled through the trees, avoiding the dog. Trees toppled over and bark and wood chips hit my face. The dog thrashed its teeth, and swung its large paw with claws towards me throwing me backwards through the air. My stomach hurt from the fall, and it was cut from the monstrous claws of the three-headed dog.
"Protego Maxima!" I yelled. A large silver shield formed around me, glowing at the dog. The dog pounced down on the shield and it flew back, and my shield drifted away. I casted defensive spells, "Sectumsempra!" but it wasn't effective enough. I had to defeat the dog. That was the task. Shreds of dirt and bark hurdled at me; I ducked and casted another shield around me. I remembered learning about three-headed dogs in CoMC. They fall asleep to music! I pointed my wand down at a rock covered in fungus, waved it in a circle and the rock morphed into a music box. It began to play music and the dog slowly drifted away to sleep.

Ellie's POV

"Oh my god! She did it!" I said.
"Woah," said Blake, holding Ellie's hand. Sagittaria was one of my best friends, and I was nervous for her. Who knew what this tournament would throw at her? But she did it, and I was proud.
Gwyndolyn rose to her feet, "Sagittaria has completed this challenge in seven minutes!"
Everyone clapped including me, and I cheered for her. Next was the Mahoutokoro champion, who completely obliterated the dog, but did it in nine minutes. The Uagadou champion put the dog to sleep in seven minutes, and came in first. Sagittaria came in second place, and I was so happy for her. The Mahoutokoro champion came last, and I smirked because one of them stole Zedmir from me.
"The next task will be February twenty-seventh," Gwyndolyn said.
