Holland's POV

I join them every weekend now on their runs. I bring a book to read while they run around but normally about ten minutes in I'm entranced by them, and my book is long forgotten. I love to watch them run around, completely comfortable and free to do as they please. My favorite part is when they're completely spent from running around and playing with each other that they come over to me and lay their huge heads on me, and we just lay there for a few minutes; them panting so loudly, all of us staring up at the beautiful sky. Sometimes they would fall asleep and I would let them nap for a little bit, running my fingers through their fur as they slept so peacefully.

Over the past few weeks, Kali had wormed her way into being my friend. I was extremely hesitant at first, but the longer I was around her, the more I fell in love with everything about her.

I love how she could instantly lighten the mood, even when we were stuck on problems from the homework for thirty minutes or more.

I love how she could tell when I was getting overwhelmed and instead of calling me out on it and making me more uncomfortable like my old friends used to do, she would make sure that the attention was on her for a few minutes so Grey or Ryker could calm me down.

I love how she listened to me when I told her that Grey and Ryker were completely off-limits and that if she were to ever flirt with them in any way possible I would throttle her to a pulp. And she left them alone. Well, I didn't really say that. I kind of stumbled over my words and was barely able to make a comprehendible sentence, but she caught the gist; she hasn't flirted with them once, not that they pay her any attention really.

I love how she always brought snacks to the study session and made sure that we took breaks so we didn't get burnt out.

I love how she always looked you in the eyes when she was talking to you, she never looked away; she always made sure that you looked away first. I would sometimes try and hold out but she always got me in the end.

After the first study session, she stopped flirting with Kayden, I think the novelty of him being new wore off, especially after his phone call with Maddie. He didn't give any mixed signals to Kali about how he felt and how available he was anymore.

And the fact that our frat has a social with our sister sorority, Zeta Rho, every Thursday night also helped our friendship blossom. She had tried to introduce me to some of her sisters in the sorority, but I could feel their judgment and glares before she introduced me. I saw the way they were looking at me, and I knew the things they were going to say as soon as I turned my back because I dealt with it all my life growing up. I didn't want anything to do with them, and I didn't want to crowd Grey and Ryker all night or feel like a burden to the rest of my brothers who were trying to hook up with some of the Zeta Rho sisters so I hung out with Kali.

She finally let me know the other week that Tabs, or Theo, was her brother.

"I feel like I knew that, for some reason. You both have the same eyes." I had said, tilting my head to stare into her eyes again.

"That's what everyone says after I tell them. Please don't tell anyone though, I don't want them thinking I got into this sorority because of his pull or something. I did it by myself." She had straightened her shoulders, a serious look crossing her face before her infamous smile crinkled the corners of her eyes and I immediately laughed with her.
