(A/N: A little jump forward! I hope you like it)
(March 25, 2022) Present Day
"You are not going to New York!" Zac yelled to his wife.
The man stood outside the closed closet door, arguing with his wife about her current plans to fly to New York later that day.
"Zac, you can't tell me what to do. Plus, this is for work. I need to connect with Bill to go over the plans to expand the club," Y/N called out from inside the closet.
"I don't want you to go to New York," he replied, leaning on the wall, talking to the door.
"But, I have to. You know this," the woman pointed out, exiting the closet.
"I don't want you to see him," Zac voiced, taking her bag out of her hand.
"Zac, I'm not going there to see him. I'm going there to work. Why does it matter anyway? I chose you," she pointed out, snatching her bag from her husband.
Zac sighed, collapsing on the edge of the bed. "Yeah, but you have been not yourself the past month since breaking it off with him. You haven't been around much. You haven't..." He trailed off, knowing his words were a bit selfish.
"I haven't what, Zac?" she questioned, turning from her vanity to look at him.
"Nevermind," he answered quickly, running his fingers through his hair.
"Speak! I haven't what?" she demanded, standing directly in front of her husband.
Zac groaned, "Fine! You haven't let me fucking touch you. You don't think it bothers me a little bit to know that the last person to be intimate with you is him and not me. I have watched you cry over this man for weeks, and I have said nothing. I'm sick of being silent. I want my wife back."
Y/N scoffed, shaking her head, slowly backing away from the man in front of her. "Tell me how you really feel, Zac."
"Don't do that. I don't know what to do," the man replied, rising to his feet. "How do I get my wife back?"
"I'm sorry that this is hurting you, but you seemed to forget that all this is because you wanted an open marriage. I knew the second Sebastian told me he loved me, this wasn't going to end well," Y/N cried, hastily gathering the rest of her things shoving them in her overnight bag. "So, this is where we are. I don't know how long it's going to take for me to recover, but you need to be fucking patient. Because unlike you, I can't just shut off my emotions for someone," she added, seizing her bag from the bed.
"Y/N," Zac begged, chasing after her.
"No!" she exclaimed, grabbing her purse from the table beside her bed. "Don't. I don't want your apologies. I want...to just...go. We'll talk when I get back," she declared, leaving Zac standing in their bedroom, unsure of what to do next.
The second Y/N walked out of her house, Tyler's face met hers. He leaned against his car, the passenger door open, waiting for her. She couldn't help but smile at the man, who had always been the one true constant in her life.
"Thank you," she whispered to him, allowing Tyler to take her bag.
Hearing her voice, Tyler knew something had gone down before she walked out of her house. He watched her get into his car, sighing a bit louder than she probably intended. Y/N didn't share her problems often with others. She kept to herself, not wanting to feel like a burden to the people close to her. Tyler knew that about the woman sitting next to him. He also knew that to feel better, she needed to talk out the shit in her head.
