     [New Beginnings]

     I took a sip out of my coffee while playing a game on my phone.

"You know what I don't get?" I said, still playing on my phone.

     "Hm?"

"Love. Especially the fact that you can't control it."

     "I see."

"Sometimes I wish I could hit my heart until I can no longer love. It's just not for me."

     I looked to my side and realized that Minghao was staring at me with a light smile. "Did I do anything?" I asked. He quickly looked away, still keeping his smile. My heart fluttered. "Xiaohua,"

     "Let's date."

     My eyes widened as I turned away. I could feel the dark shade of pink creeping onto my face. Did Xu Minghao, member of the group Seventeen, ask me out? I wanted to say yes, but my voice was stuck in my throat. "Hm?" Minghao said. I could feel his stares, waiting for an answer. I chuckled a bit, finally found my voice to say something. "Okay." I glanced over at him, he was smiling. At that moment, I felt a little tingle in my heart, different from the fluttering. Was this the feeling of love?

     A notification popped up on my phone. It was Shancai.

     ;mhmmm~ i'd be having more fun if you were here tho. :[

;obviously. I can't believe you left us

     ;nOoOO~ i didn't leave you guys. WAIT OMG I NEED TO TELL U SUM

     ;MINGHAO ASKED ME OUT

     Shancai stopped replying for a good 10 minutes. She's probably shocked as well. "Minghao, You should go. It's getting late." I told him. "Can't I stay here?" He asked. Waaa~ Can we really sleep together on the first day? I mean- We did it when I was still in the dorms, but now it's different! We're actually dating!

     I cleaned up myself and got ready for bed. Minghao was already laying down on my bed, doing something on his phone. God, how am I gonna sleep tonight ;_;

     I laid down while Minghao quickly cuddled me in his arms. "Let's go to sleep." My eyes remained wide open the whole night. Am I, uncomfortable?

     4:03 am. I got absolutely no sleep last night, all I did was listen to music and remain still in Minghao's arms. I stood up and stretched while looking at the tall figure sleeping on my bed. I still can't believe that yesterday was real. Was it?

     I ate some noodles for breakfast and got ready for the morning. Maybe I should explore the area today. I haven't done that yet. I took a shower and did my makeup before waking Minghao up.

     "Minghao. Wake up now." I said while tapping on him lightly. It was 6:00.

He moved slightly.

     "Minghaoo~ Wake up." I said a bit louder this time.

"What time is it?" Minghao asked me while rubbing his eyes.

     "6 something. You should get ready. I'm going out soon."

"Where are you going?"

     "Just around the area. I'll explore a bit."

"Okay."

     I walked with Minghao to the building. "It's cold." I said while reaching my hand out for snow. "Do you like the cold?" Minghao asked. I nodded while putting my hand down, unsuccessful in catching any snowflakes. Our hands were dangerously close to each other, and from time to time they'd touch. Maybe it's time for me to make the first move. I softly grabbed his hand while smoothly avoiding eye contact. I put our hands into his pocket, since I didn't have one anyway.

     We unfortunately reached the building, and his hand began to loosen its grip on mine. "See you later." He said while opening the door for himself. "Bye." Our hands let go and so I began walking away from the building. "Where to go first?" I whispered to no one.

     I found myself walking through an area that had many stores around. It looked like the big cities where the main character would walk around with her lover. I saw a skating rink and decided to go inside.

     Although I may not have a clue on how to skate, it's still worth a try. Besides, it's not like I have anything better to do anyway. I put on some skates and stepped onto the ice slowly. I've done rollerblading before, so hopefully this is somewhat similar. My arm clung onto the supporting wall while my legs started moving, the same way I would if I were to rollerblade. C'mon, Xiaohua! Embrace your inner Sunghoon! The little voice in my head told me. I slowly let go of the wall as I skated around the rink.

     Crash~

     I felt my back hit the cold, hard ice. I giggled to myself as others passed by, whispering to each other if they should help me up. I stood up and brushed myself off before skating again. Practice makes perfect, right?

     After skating for a bit and falling about a hundred times, I decided to stop by a library and see if I could find a book I like. Maybe that'll help my tiny brain grow. I walked inside, seeing a few others studying. "Fiction, Non-Fiction, Action..." I said while reading the signs in front of each aisle. "Ah, here it is! Romance." I picked a random book and began to read it. Something about a pretty girl falling in love with her enemy. I threw the book back onto the shelf. Books like that are simply too predictable. I began searching again for another book, reading the backs of them from time to time and then throwing them back into the shelf.

     At last, I had found a book that actually appealed to me. I laid down on a couch while reading and listening to some music with headsets on. The book was about an ugly girl (me), falling in love with a guy who she could only watch from afar. A spell kept them apart and the guy didn't even know she existed. How sad.

     "Hitorijanai" was playing when the blaring ringtone sound began. Me being me, had the volume at the highest it could get. I flinched, and quickly grabbed my phone to answer whoever disturbed my unwinding time. Unbelievable.

     "Hello?" I answered.

"Hello, Ms. Li. We apologize for disturbing you." It was my manager.

     "It's fine."

"I'm calling to remind you that there'll be an event at 3:00 pm. Please arrive by the latest, 12."

     "Oh, alright. I'll be there soon."

     Finally, I begin working today. I checked my phone for the time. 9:07. I still have some time to grab some food.

     "You have one month until you can either return the book or keep it for another month." The librarian told me while typing on her computer. "Alright, thank you!" I said while walking out. Now, where can I find some food?

     I stopped by a small restaurant and ordered some tteokbokki, and then rushed to get to the building. I was starving, but decided that I would eat when I got there. My stomach groaned as I stood at the stop light. Gosh.

     At last, I reached the building and rushed to get to the office. Not like I was late or anything, it's just that my stomach was begging me to finally eat. I have a big appetite.

     I sat down at my desk and sighed while taking a bite. "Hungry?" My deskmate asked. "Mhm." I replied while stuffing my face. She looked over to my desk to read the nametag. "Xiao- Xiaohua, if only you got here earlier, they would have given you a heavy breakfast for free." My jaw dropped while I rethought all my life decisions. Free food?! "If only." My deskmate said while rolling her chair back to her desk and working again. Next time, I'll come extra early.
