["You're becoming famous."]
I slouched through the doors, straight into my office. I haven't been around for the past few days since the manager never called for me to come. So I find it kind of suspicious that he's finally decided to call me. Please don't tell me I'm in trouble again. I've already caused a lot of it.
I opened the door, one thousand pairs of eyes facing me. The members, managers, makeup artists. A lump formed in my throat, giving off the feeling that it was choking me. This can't be good.
"Xiaohua, do you have an explanation for this?"
Woozi held up the paper, in which I took a step forward to read it. "Hey! Don't get any closer!" He yelled, scooting his chair back. I scanned the room, my belongings sitting in a brown box near Jun. Jun. He sat in the corner, not even able to make eye contact with me. All he did was play with his ring, whispering with Liang Wei from time to time.
"I can't really see it." I mumbled, my voice barely able to be heard. Woozi thought for a bit before throwing the paper onto the ground. He scoffed to himself, eyeing the others. The looks they gave. It was giving off such a terrible feeling, which only made my throat hurt even more.
I picked up the paper with all sorts of thoughts in my head. Could this be where I get fired? A contract of some sort? The air was choking me, feeling their cold stares that surrounded me. My muscles tensed and the cold sweat feeling began to arise as I read the paper. Is it getting hot in here or is it just me?
"By signing this contract, you agree to:
access and use of all funds gained by the group..."
At the end of the contract, my signature. My eyes widened. I don't remember signing this! "Where did you guys even find this? It's nonsense!"
My eyes quickly averted to the members after hearing the sound of a bang. On the floor, a cell phone. "Don't even dare fool us with your lies again. And you wanna know what's nonsense? Yourself, Xiaohua." I blinked back tears, can't let them see me like this. I picked up the phone that had gained a few small cracks when it fell worthlessly on the floor.
;Thank you for working with us, Ms. Li! We will definitely provide the best support possible to ensure your paintings are able to make it to market!
;Thank you so much!
It was from the same guy on the paper. "I never texted this..." My voice was hoarse, bare, dead.
"Then take out your phone and prove it to us!" Joshua cut in, no longer with the smile he used to give me before. The smile that he showed to carats. His happiness was completely drained out. I willingly pulled out my phone, giving it to them. "I know that I never said that."
My eyes wandered the room while they scrolled through my phone. Jun was now near the group, wanting to find out if it was true as well. He really doesn't trust me. Goddammit, Jun. Why do you have to be so fucking blind?
"WHAT'S THIS THEN?!" Joshua stood up in front of me, waving the phone in my face. The text messages. "But-" "Li Xiaohua! And I thought we could trust you!" Tears wanted to run down my face, but only came out as a cough.
"Do you know how much money we lost because of this? And all because of those stupid paintings!" Stupid paintings. That's what he thought about the things I called art. Ouch.
Mingyu then stood up. "He's right! If you wanted to be an artist, then you should've stayed back in China!" It felt like I was reliving my birthday, 16 years ago. The kids throwing dirt at me, calling me a joke. The blaring sound in my ear, blocking out all of their words.
