One Month Later

Ben's Point of View

I jump out of the car and look up at the college this was now mine to run how crazy, but I was determined, determined to do a good job, I owed it to myself and I owed it to my family. I walk up the corridor wondering where everyone is it's far to quiet for so early in the day. I walk up to my office door and notice they have changed the sign

Mr Benjamin Langley

Principal

I laugh a little to myself when I see it and take a quick picture to send to Lisa. I walk into my new office, it's been redecorated during the holiday's you can still smell the paint. I look around at the old wooden book cases, leather chairs and dark green carpet. There's a full length mirror in the corner of the room, oh the memories one of those conjurers up. As my darling wife had informed me a new job, new office such and such required a new suit, Navy three piece I grant you, picked by Mrs Langley with a navy tie with white polka dot's that was perfectly knotted, Yes Mrs Langley again of course, all of which according to my own personal stylist makes me look very professional but also and these are her words extremely fucking hot. Damn that girl.

I sit at my desk running my hand over its finely polished surface still trying to comprehend all of this. I smile as I take out the photographs from out of my bag to place upon it, you can never have too many, one each of the children, one of me and darling girl, a full family portrait of us all and one of just my girl that I'd taken just a few days ago, a picture of happiness with a little glint in her eye which only I know the real meaning of. I place them either side of my desk taking their rightful place, they were the reason I was here, my reason for doing this job. After setting out all of my belongings including a new pen that Gran had given me although what was wrong with a normal ball point I will not know.

I bring out my lunch box that Lisa had prepared on the top is a card from the kids made by their fair hands "Good Luck Daddy" I read out loud from the front making me smile. I place this on the book shelf for all to see. I open the box to see what she's given me finding a little note so open it up.

Have a wonderful first day my darling, you will never know how proud of you I am, my husband the Principal, it makes me all giggly just thinking about it, you looked so very handsome in your suit this morning but then to me you will always will, and you look even more handsome with nothing on

Cheeky, I'm thinking

Enjoy your lunch, can't wait for you to come home as always My Darling Ben, I love you lots like Jelly tots as the kids would say, but I do, I love you with all my heart

I could cry at her sweetness, that beautiful sweetness that never fades and never stops me feeling giddy whenever she shows it. Placing my box in my drawer I go to get up. Blimey it's quiet what the hell is going on do I have no staff today, I can hear the students outside but that's it. I step out of my office and head for the staff room wondering where everyone is. I walk in and it's in darkness so I switch on the light to a burst of party poppers, hooters and cheering making me jump but laugh

"Good Morning Boss" they all shout, blood hell I didn't expect that

"What on earth is this" I say and my faithful musketeers come forward

"We wanted to wish our new Principal Good luck" Davey shouts

"Pity it's you Langley, Nice whistle, your Good lady wife has done your tie I see" Gerry jokes

"Now that's no way for a deputy to treat his boss now is it" I say

"You're lucky Benny Boy Davey wanted to egg ya" Gerry says and I turn to him and he's laughing.
