[MATURE 18+]
marshall pov"so, you excited you get to see her?" paul asked on the other end of the call. "more like nervous, i'm lucky if i got a few hours of sleep. i think i stared at the clock most of the night" i said walking through the streets of, the star.
"i feel absolutely sick to my stomach" i said, trying to take a few deep breaths. dre let out a low chuckle. "seriously my anxiety is super high right now. i fucking lied to her, she thinks that i'm in michigan working on the album"
"marshall c'mon you lied to her for a good reason, you wanted to surprise her for her birthday and i think that's really sweet" dre said. "yeah but when i called her this morning she seemed really upset. all she wanted was me to be here"
"good lord, this girl really ain't out for anything you have. she really just wants you.." paul said just as surprised as i still am. "i'm telling you bro, she's different. so i'm taking the chance, and following my gut and my heart.. hoping i don't fuck up"
i was now petrified, feeling impending doom because i have never said anything like that about a woman, except kim. "whoa, who knew that you were such a softy marshall" paul joked, as i let out a sigh and rolled my eyes.
"marshall, don't listen to him and don't be nervous. from everything you've said about this her she is down bad for you and once she see's you, it's end game dude" dre said. "i'm really hoping i made the right choice, i'll talk you guys later" i said before hanging up.
i walked into a floral shop, awkwardly standing there, shoving my hands in my pockets before looking around. "hey there, is there something i can help you find?" a woman asked, walking out from the back, and wiping her hands on her apron.
i nodded, "yeah, i'm actually here for a floral order" i said, trying to pull the confirmation up. she nodded, "okay, and what's the last name?" she asked.
i cleared my throat, "mathers" i said before noticing her body language shift. a smile tugged at the ends of her lips, "oh, so you're the guy that avery's been going on and on about huh?" she said as i could hear the excitement in her voice.
my face flushed, "well, i hope so. i'm marshall" i said as i properly introduced myself. "lucille" she said happily.
"i have four boys of my own, so avery is like the daughter i never had. she's truly the sweetest and most selfless person i have ever met" lucille said before pausing. "please don't break her heart" she said barely above a whisper.
"you don't have to worry cause i don't plan on it. to tell you the truth, i'm more worried she'll break mine" i said nervously. "okay so, how much for everything lucille..?" i asked, before she adamantly shook her head.
"these are for avery, don't worry about the payment honey" she stated as my face scrunched in confusion, "i can't walk out of here without giving you some form of payment" i said, grabbing my wallet and taking out whatever cash i had.
she continued to deny the money, before i begged her to keep it. lucille let out a defeated sigh, knowing i wasn't gonna leave until she accepted the money. "please, let samantha know i'll be over shortly" she asked i nodded, before walking out and toward avery's storefront.
as i opened the door, the smell of vanilla stopped me in my tracks. it smelt just like her. i walked around, taking in my surroundings before i was caught off guard by an energetic hello. i jumped before letting out an awkward smile. "it's good to finally meet you, i'm sam"
