Chapter 13-Katarina and the captain

No ones POV

"Scott calm down!" the captain commanded pulling Katarina behind him.
"Do not trust her she will betray you they all do" he said spitting with anger.
"Calm down what are you talking about?" the captain asked wondering why someone would be so afraid.
"Captain I urge you to stay away. You don't know what she's capable of" men were now holding him down to try and settle him down from his outrage.
"Take him below to calm down and then get back to work" the captain ordered. He turned to his mate. She was so confused. She didn't understand what he was raving about. She followed him with wondering eyes as he left to below deck. The captain cleared his throat trying to catch her attention. She turned to him feeling anxious.
"So where do you come from?" he asked.
"The water" she said nonchalantly.
"So then what are you?" he asked cautiously. The captain didn't want to scare her off. He wanted her to be his Luna of his pack. But he also needed a son. An heir to his powerful pack. His pack was one of the most powerful packs and biggest in America.
"A siren" she said looking down.
"Adam!" he bellowed.
"Yes captain?" Adam replied saluting him.
"Find what a siren is" he said and hooking his arm around her. " Whatever you are, nothing will hurt you" he said kissing her forehead.

"I need to go" she said sadly. After all this time of talking and laughing it was growing dark and gray. The captain was worried about not seeing her again. He feared he wouldn't have his mate or Luna and would have to find a suitable female. He didn't want that. He had waited long enough for her and he wasn't going to let her go. They walked to the side holding hands for dear life like they were never going to see each other. They may not but with the captains efforts, they will see each other soon. When they reached the side the captains nerves spiked. He would miss her and would want to claim her.
"Will we ever see each other again?" she asked looking up with hopeful eyes.
"If you ever come up just find me at the surface" He said caressing her cheek.
"How?" she asked pondering what he said.
"Like this" he said and kissing the soft spot in her neck. He then lowered his canine teeth into her neck. Her eyes widen in shock as sheet out an ear piercing scream. She wondered why he was biting her neck. Then all the pain subsided. While biting her neck he tasted the foulest, bitter blood ever. He wondered why her blood wasn't sweet like everyone said. Despite the taste he retracted his canines and licked her soft skin. She shuddered when he lifted his head.
"Why did you do that?" she asked.
"So we can find each other" he stared at her with loving eyes.
"How?"
"You'll know" he told her reassuringly.

She was currently on the side of the railing ready to dive. He pushed a slight curl away from her face.
"I look forward to seeing you soon" he said. He then kissed her cheek slightly. Her cream cheeks blushed a deep red.
"Goodbye" she said breathlessly. She then put both feet on the other side on a little ledge. She then jumped and dove into the water. As soon as she hit the water Her skin on her legs turned into her scales. The captain looked under the sea to try and find her. After a few minutes he got back to his crew. As for Katarina she flicked her tail the opposite way of the ship. The water was passing by her as she brought her hand to her neck. Her skin was tender and sore but she felt a burning of passion wanting to be with him. She finally reached her kingdom and swam through the lit "streets" and came to her house. It was already darker than when she left. When she entered her cave with her family inside. Her mother and sister were resting by the time she entered. She swam as quietly as she could to her area of rest.
"Where were you I was worried" her mother asked crossing her arms. She had just been caught and didn't really know what to tell her mother.
"Uh, I went exploring?" she said as more of a question.
"When will you just find a mate and settle down?" her mother had been badgering her to settle down.
"I have!" she shouted and quickly covered her mouth.
"You what?" her mother asked shocked.
"Are you pregnant?" her mother could tell something was different. She just couldn't figure out what.
"No" she said shyly.
"If you found him you were supposed to get pregnant. What happened?" her mother was worried she hadn't followed the rules. All sirens once they find a mating partner they mate and kill the male. With each partner comes one child or twins, that's it.
"I couldn't!" she shouted.
"And why's that?" her mother said sternly and crossing her arms across her chest.
"He's different!"
"There's no exception! We have our nature ways and rules to protect us. We kill them because they will know too much. Who else knows since you screwed up society. Who else did you tell?" her mother asked turning red with a disapproving look.
"I was on a ship and my mate told me he wouldn't let anything hurt me" she defended him.
"Men lie" her mother seethed.
"I could tell he wasn't and he was sincere, he kissed me!" she exclaimed.
"Where?"
"Here see!" she said hoping her mother would let her be with him.
"This isn't a kiss! What is he do you know?" her mother asked.
"No I don't."
