Chapter Two

Jake's POV

            Who the fuck does she think she is, some kind of queen telling me to watch my back. If I was her I'd watch my own back. This is ridiculous getting all defensive around her, I can't believe how much she actually gets to me, shit. I began to head back to my own house, in doing so I passed her parents halfway there, they looked like they've been through hell.

"What happened?" I ask with a concerned look on my face.

"The packs were attacked by rogue's. They asked where our daughter was, but we didn't tell them where she was, we weren't going to let them take her away from us. Not giving him what he wanted they attacked us then headed for her. If they haven't made it there already."

"Did the leader say why he wanted Nicole?"

"He said that he wanted to mate with her, but we want her to be with someone she is supposed to be with."

"How many did they kill before running after Nicole?"

"Enough to warn us if we tried to stop them."

"How long ago did they leave?"

"They left about twenty of thirty minutes ago, but we were too injured to catch up to them."

"Could you run to her, keep her safe until we get there to help?"

"Yeah sure, I'll go make sure I get there before they do."

            I honestly don't want to do this, but it's a favor for an Alpha to soon to be Alpha, so I run towards their house. Just as I'm getting there she is standing over the rogue wolves that were sent to get her, I was astonished to see that there was not a scratch on her.

Nicole's POV

            When he had left, I continued to head towards my house. Getting to a clearing with it in sight, wolves suddenly surrounded me. By that time I'm in my human form standing still waiting for them to move first, they don't budge, but they do say,

"Come with us."

"No."

            When I refused they started to charge at me so I defended myself, each time they got close enough for me to touch them I ripped their heart from their chests, also tearing their heads off with my bare hands. After I had them all bloody and lifeless laying on the ground, looking up I see Jake standing there shocked.

"I thought you wanted to avoid me." I wasn't quite happy to see him again, but part of me was glad he showed up at that moment.

"I was asked to come protect you from them."

"I don't need your protection."

"I guess not," he says, laughs a little then turns it into a cough to mask it.

"Wait! If your here where is m-"

"I'm right here sweetheart."

"Dad! What happened after I left?"

"The packs were attacked by the same rogue wolves that came after you."

"Where's mom? Is she okay?" Once I ask that tears begin to well up in dad's eyes. I knew there and then that mom was gone, then I started to cry.

Ben's POV

            Nicole had left the gathering after she'd been rejected, the wolves emerged out of the tree line demanding things. They stood there waiting for their leader to come to the front line, he then commands,

"Bring me Nicole's parents." He growls. I was about to show myself, but Marry stopped me.

"Don't."

"We have to see what he wants with us." She looks up to me, nodding her head in agreement. Slightly nervous, we showed ourselves."What do you want?"
