As soon as we arrive at the residence, Jake is waiting for us at the entrance, he has his arms crossed, leaning on one leg tapping the other foot, positioned like a concerned mother about to question/interrogate his child or children for being out so late. Nicole and I couldn't help but chuckle when we saw him in that manner. We glanced at him and then at each other, walking right through the front doors and started giggling. Jake lets Nicole wall all the way in but puts his hand out to halt me. His palm rests flat on my chest, I glance down at it, then look back up at him and utter,
"What?" I snatch his wrist and wrench it from my body.
"Ah, let go."
"Don't touch me ever again."
"Whatever, tell me, did you do that?"
"Do-" He cuts me off.
"Did you make her cry?"
"Not on purpose."
Nicole's POV
"Guy's please don't fight, not tonight." They both give me a nod, looking at me. I gave them a small smile, turning on my heel heading to my room, when they tried to follow, I told them no and shut the door in their faces. I lock it, then slide to the floor, keeping my knees close to my chest as I sit with my head between my legs. The guys on the other side, stand there with their ears against the door to see if they can hear me at all.
"Nicole?"
"Go away, I don't want to talk."
"You can't keep doing this to yourself."
"It's a real shame nobody asked for your opinion." All three of us fall completely silent. After Jarred leaves, Jake stands in front of my room entrance. He leans against the door, sliding down to the floor with one leg up, rests one of his hands on top of his knee, and rests the other hand laying out straight along the surface, as he tilts his head back onto the door.
"Why were you crying? You certainly don't deserve to."
"Just leave."
"Don't start shutting me out."
"Yeah, well, I shut everybody out. Don't take it personally, it's just easier."
"Can you tell me what happened?" He waits for me to respond before turning his head slightly.
"Not yet."
"Okay." After that, he leaves me by myself. I could hear his footsteps fading out, when I wasn't able to hear them anymore I stood up, unlocking the door and poking my head out to see if anyone was wandering the halls. When nobody is in sight I sneak out of the house and wander the territory grounds so I could be alone. As the dusk sun dips below the horizon painting the sky in hues of orange, pink, and purple, the world is bathed in a warm, ethereal glow over the forest, my world seemed like a blur.
That night as I prowled through the darkened woods, the landscape turned into a breathtaking panorama, a fleeting moment of serenity and beauty before the night took hold. I went about my nightly run. A wave of inexplicable fatigue washed over me, tugging at the edges of my consciousness, simple tasks became arduous, and my heightened senses that seemed to betray me, amplifying every sound and scent in my surroundings.
I shrugged it off and continued on heading back to the house again. Once there I get stopped by the boys who are fixing dinner right now. Getting this weird craving when I step foot in the kitchen I decided to talk with Arctic first to see if she's got the same thing going on.
"Arctic?"
"Yeah, what is it?"
"Are you craving anything right now?"
