The Unforgettable Rejection (Book One)

Chapter Seven

Nicole's POV

            There's a big commotion outside the room that I was thrown into, all of a sudden one of Jarred's pack members comes barreling in saying that they found a wolf not of their pack, that's when I knew that they had captured Jake.

"Please don't hurt him, please."

"So you know who's here."

"Where is he? Tell me where the hell he is now or take me to him."

"No, not a chance, you just stay right here."

"No, take me to him now. I'm not taking no for an answer."

"Fine, I'll take you to him, but you're not allowed in the room. Stand by the doorway, got it?"

"Ya, ya, got it."

            He grabs my arm dragging me down a hallway, down into a basement. When we get to the room I see that they've already hit him a couple times. Jake, he better not be here to save me. If he is, I'm not letting him off so easily when we get back to the pack house, he's going to hear it.

"Nicole are you alright?"

"I could ask you the same thing. Are you that stupid? Honestly? Do you not think that I could have gotten out of here without you? No of course not, you had to do it your way. What other fucking way is there besides yours."

"Can you lay off? I came here to rescue your ass but it seems to me that you're getting the special treatment in this dump."

"Shut up both of you." Jarred says from behind me, startling me.

"Stay out of this, this is a talk between two adults."

"What was that?"

"You heard me, your majesty."

"Interrogate him further."

"Did anyone else come with you?" Rogue wolf 1 questioned

"Wouldn't you like to know?"

"Are there more of you coming?" The second rogue said.

"Who knows exactly how many of us are really out there waiting for my signal, hahaha."

            Each time they asked him a question he answered with another question. I can't stand seeing him get hurt like this, so I tried to turn around, but I was stopped by Jarred. He turned me back to face Jake, making me watch.

"C'mon, I thought you hated him, you didn't even care what happened to him, so why are you looking away?"

"Stop it! Please leave him alone."

"Awe look at her Jake, she's beautiful when she's scared."

"S-s-stop it p-please."

"How about this, we kill him so you don't have to watch this anymore?" Jarred signals the rogue to do it, he was about to snap Jake's neck when I cried out for him to wait.

"Wait! I wanna be the one to kill him, we're connected."

"Oh look who's ready to admit he's not a suitable mate for herself."

"Why are you doing this for him? If you do this he will win, he will have what he wants and break his promise to you, kill everyone in the pack just before dawn. Think about it Nicole, why else would he want to kill me?"

"Shhhhhh this will all be over soon, my dear mate." When I get close enough I whisper as soft as I possibly can, so none of the wolves can hear me talk. I continue to whisper in Jake's ear, "When I walk away from you and tell Jarred that I can't kill you, shift into your wolf and attack your way out." I back away from Jake, pretending to cry walking towards Jarred.
