Jake's POV

Once everyone was seated we began strategizing amongst each other right away. There are about a hundred people here ready to do what it takes to fight the enemy.

"We all know why we're here. We have to retaliate, the rogue's have taken too many important lives from us." Everyone was enraged with anger.

"Retaliating will only make it worse."

"Not doing anything is even worse."

"What makes our lives more important than their own lives?" Nicole retorts.

"She has a point."

"What if we try negotiating with them?"

"Yeah, strike a deal that's suited for the both of us."

"They're dangerous, we don't know how much more they're capable of doing."

"I'm quite capable of the things they've done and yet I'm sitting with all of you. You don't even know if I'm capable of more. What's the difference between me and them? The way I look, the way I act? How smart I am? How well dressed I am? How clean I am? Tell me what the differential between us is?"

The more she put her two scents in, they were all arguing with one another, causing temporary chaos. To get everybody to stop bickering I growl as loud as possible to get them to settle down.

"Quiet!" Dad then continues.

"First thing's first I would like everyone to vote. Who is in favor of retaliating?" Only 44 people raise their hands. "All opposed?" The rest of them, all 56 of them raise their hands. "Okay, looks like we're going to try reasoning with them. Next I would like to send out a small hunting party, searching for the place that the rogue's hideout is. So Jake, Brad, Brody, Ben, and I, we will begin tomorrow morning."

Nicole's POV

When we all finished talking, the other packs headed home. I waited till everyone had left the territory, even before the boys left. I spoke once more, asking if I could join the hunt to help them.

"Can I help with the hunting party?"

"No, you stay here with the rest of the pack."

"When did I become your bitch, Jake? Huh?"

"Dad she is to not leave this territory."

"Are you even listening to me Jake? I'm not staying here, I'd like to help."

"I know you want to help, but I think you've helped enough and may I remind you that they are after you. We can't protect you as well as ourselves."

"Yes, but I am capable of protecting myself. With all due respect Alpha I would like to show them that I'm not afraid of them. If I stay here, that just goes to show that I am afraid of being taken."

"No, I won't allow it. I solemnly agree with my son, you stay here."

"This isn't fair!"

"Nicole, he is your Alpha. You will do as he says, am I clear!?"

"Yeah but-"

"End of discussion!"

"But-"

"No! If you disobey me, you will be grounded!"

"I'm going if you like it or not!"

"I said no! And that's that!"

"You can help by staying here to protect the children, just in case the rogue's have something planned. Like an ambush of some kind for us, so I know the pack will be safe."
