Normani's pov
Even though the wedding was off for now, I had to distance myself from Ally and Dinah. I had to protect my heart. The longer I stayed; the harder it will be to leave. Today at the station was intense. I threw a stapler at Dinah, who was a cop. She could easily beat my ass. I took Ally home, but she didn't want to stay there alone. I told her to grab some clothes and her outfit for tonight. She was staying with me. I had an extra room she could stay in for the time being. I hoped she liked it because she hadn't left it since we got here. I didn't know what to do.
Megan came over to help me get ready. I mean that was the plan before Ally came over.
"She told Dinah that it was over?" Megan asked, sitting up from her laying position on my bed.
"Yeah." I got out of my chair and headed to the bed to be closer to Megan. I didn't want her to talk too loud since Ally was here. "She gave her the ring back and everything. This is all my fault. After the auction and once she leaves, I have to stop being her friend. Like I said months ago, I have to disappear."
Megan smacked my arm. "No, you don't. Mani, you like her. It's time you make your move."
"What? So I can be her rebound? No way. Now is not the time. She is going through a lot right now. I would only complicate my feelings for her more than I already have." I countered.
"Okay then don't make things complicated for her. Just stop being scared, and tell her how you feel. Let her know that you are willing to wait for her to figure her life out or whatever. But it's time that you get your feelings off your chest. Things may or may not go your way in the end, but at least this time you tried." She explained. She did have a good point.
"I don't know." I grabbed my carebear and held it close to my chest. "I really don't think that's a good idea."
Megan rolled her eyes at my response. "And I don't think that it is a good idea for you to ghost her. I saw her around. I work with her. Think about how awkward that would be for me. Girl, you don't have to tell her today. Take your time and think it over. But I think you should go for it." Megan got off of the bed.
"Okay. I will think about it." That's all I could do. Think about me and Ally together and what our future could look like. How I would be betraying Dinah.
She smiled. "Good. Now let's get ready."
We got dressed and did our makeup. I was wearing a pretty emerald green dress that made me feel like princess Tiana. Megan was wearing an orange dress. That complimented her skin so well. As always, she looked amazing. We agreed not to stand beside each other at the auction because looked like fucking Apple Jacks.
It was an hour and a half til we had to leave, so I went to check on Ally. Megan had been pestering me to tell Ally about how I felt the entire time we got ready. She refused to drop the subject. "Ally." I knocked on the door, but I got no response. "Ally, I'm coming in." I twisted the knob and luckily she didn't lock the door. I mean this my damn house, so I had a key. She was laying in the bed with her emerald green pants on. She just had to put on the jacket, shoes, and tie her bow tie. "Ally, are you okay?"
"No, I'm not. I'm far from it. Why does everything keep getting worse for us? I don't know if me and Dinah could ever be friends again." Ally put her phone down on the bed. She was looking at all the missed calls and messages from Dinah and Tori. She even had a few from Coleman and Monet.
"Oh Ally. It's okay." I sat on the edge of the bed. "Don't say that. Maybe She was right. Maybe we shouldn't be friends."
"What? Are you serious?" Ally looked at me with wide eyes.
